It's funny how one thing can get blurred into another and another. They broke one law, therefore they support child molesters, therefore abortion is bad.

I'm completely pro-choice, but what the aide did was completely illegal and just wrong.

But, the spin that pro-lifers are putting on this is also ridiculous.

It's a topic that can be debated forever, and will never reach a full conclusion on understanding.

No doubt.

But, as you said, it's the reaction that brings our sympathy back to the pro-choice side. It would be like if some group posted the Domino's video and then tried to ban tomato sauce worldwide.

Yes, what the aide did was wrong, but it's absolutely not wrong enough to warrant cutting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of funds. This girl is still a complete douchebag.

Why hasn't she been brought up on charges for the multitude of laws she's broken? She lied about her age repeatedly on film (and the fact that she did so nullifies any legal ramifications for the staffers), secretly taped the interior of an organization that prides itself on privacy, and engaged in blatant entrapment (meaning the tapes can't be used as evidence, despite her apparently sending copies to law enforcement agents).

Technically, entrapment can only be committed by law enforcement. Although there may be analogous laws that prohibit civilians from doing the same. They just wouldn't call it entrapment.

That begs the question; whatever happened to Catherine Zeta-Jones?

The news story also says there are blank spots on the tape, so it's possible she told them any number of things, i.e. I was raped, my rapist is my dad, he'll kill me if he knows I'm getting an abortion, etc. etc.

The pro-life people will want to use this to justify making abortion illegal. Tell that to the guy who sold a pack of cigarettes or alcohol to a minor who managed to fool him about his age. They're not going to ban cigarettes or alcohol over that.

Exactly.
End of debate.

Of course they're going to use this to justify making abortion illegal. I'm not worried about that part. My problem is rooted in her actions getting thousands of dollars of funds cut when they could be using that money to provide safe procedures/contraceptives to women who need it (and didn't call the place trying to pull one over on them) in ass-backwards places like Tennessee.
