I'm beyond happy at that news, I loved MVC2 can't wait

Mother. Fucking. A.

I had a big video game fight night at my joint when SF IV came out. Pulled out the Dreamcast, dug up old Tekkens, had the Street Fighter HD Remix and MK 2 rocking on the PS3...all that jazz. Except for SF IV, MvC 2 was the most played. I still love that game to death and to be honest, I wouldn't mind being able to finally put my Dreamcast to sleep.

Wait. No Toy Commander remake yet. Nevermind.
YES!!!!!!

Finally. I've been waiting for this announcement for a long time.

Can't wait to kick ass with Mega Man again

Capcom loves you. Never forget it.

This pretty much makes my year.

Pretty much all I need is online multiplayer, and the option to kill the fucking music, and we're golden.
Excellent news. Dunno about it being better than SF IV, though... a bit to button masher friendly for my tastes. But hells yeah. Thank youuuuuuu, Capcom!
Cool news, but is this gonna be HD update like SF2HDREMIX with redrawn HD sprites?

Didn't play much of MvC2, but I did play a truck load of SFvsXmen and MvC1. What exactly is the difference between these titles gameplay wise?

What? Horrible song my left foot! "Take you for a ride" is my jam!

It was seriously my Myspace song for a good while.

Oh, and had I but known. I gave my mint condition Dreamcast copy to my friend for his birthday a few years back. I could have made a couple hundred bucks off Ebay? Fuck.

I would love to see, if Marvel Vs Capcom 2 online is a hit, Capcom Classics 3: The Marvel Edition featuring X-Men Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom 1, and of course The Punisher (featuring Nick Fury Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) sold in retail, not just online.

MvsC2 added three character teams, three assist options per char, and not only three person Hyper Combos, but also the ability to chain super moves to the mix.

Dear God:

What name should I make that check to?

Fuckin Awesome...cant wait to play as Strider/Gambit again!
Between this and SFIV's new mode, Capcom is back as my favorite game maker.

Kotaku reports that the price is 1200 MS/ $15 PSN, all characters accesible from the start, widescreen support and a demo is hitting on April 30th.
Capcom is now my favorite game company. Between SFII HD Remix, Street Fighter IV, and now MvC2, no other company comes close. Can't wait to take it online.
This made my day. I love Capcom for this.

Plus the demo comes out 1 day before my birthday.

I always chose Felicia. I'm vicious with her. Always liked the off the wall characters (Tron Bonne, Sonson, B.B. Hood). My good friend in college would kick holy ass using Strider.

My Wolverine/Juggernaught combo was devestating in MvXmen.

Had to switch up to Wolvie/Venom for the CvSF games

I played with Wolverine/Ryu -- does that make me a cheap bastard?

Not so much, more like you went for the "simple characters". They aren't cheap in this game as I recall.

Great news!
Awesome news. I just sold my PS2 copy last month--perfect timing, it seems.

How much did you get for it?

No. From my recollection of MvC 1 and Xmen vs Street fighter, they weren't the most balanced games of the capcom fighters. From what I've read of MvC2 the balance issues are much worse but the game is still a tonne of fun.
First day purchase for me, but I suspect I'm going to have to use my US psn account to pick it up, as the Aussie version will probably be released 4 months later (just like SF2HDremix).

Also, count me completely shocked: PSN gets the demo before XBOX Live!

Nah.

Cyclops/Cable, on the other hand, is who you use when you're tired of having friends.
At long last! This is the best news I've heard all day.

Really, if you want to lose all friends and self-respect then Iron Man/Cable/War Machine.

I actually let it go through Goozex, so it wasn't a sale exactly. I got the equivalent of $60 for it. I don't really go in for the whole games as collector's items thing, so I would have felt bad hosing someone for $100 or something. It was a fair deal to me--someone got MvC2 for less than on eBay and I got a new game for the 360 (and now I'll still get to play MvC2 for a small fee!).

Pretty cheap
Captain America/Spiderman was pretty cheap too
post #29 of 82
Cable isn't cheap. He's just the one character that was smart enough to bring a gun to the fight.

I had a pretty good run with Cable/Spiderman/Gambit myself, but it's a year or so since I last played the game. I'll probably have to spend several hours in the training room before heading into the arena.
The cheapest team I ever had was War Machine,Iron Man and Ice Man
post #31 of 82
I want to play this online so much, despite knowing I'll likely end up on the business end of many a "perfect."
I've come to the conclusion over the years that, short of shooting your opponent in the head while the game loads, a Perfect is impossible in this game.
My favorite combo in MVC2 is, Wolverine/Chun Li/ Iron Man
post #34 of 82
I've never been much for fighting games, because I'm miserable at them. I picked up Street Fighter IV and had some amount of fun with it, but there's just no way that I can ever get good at it. I think the reason why I vastly prefer wrestling games is that they tend to be a lot slower and don't rely nearly as much on precision input from the player.

Is MVC2 generally more forgiving than Street Fighter, or should I not bother?
Yes and no. It's alot faster than SF IV but for instance super moves are easier to perform (only a quarter/half circle forward and PP or kick for most) and you can randomly button mash your way to a nice aerial combo (made easier if you select the Easy option after character selection). But the fighting is fast paced and chaotic. I think you'll find enjoyment to be had especially at just fifteen bucks.

Anyhoo, try out the demo when it comes out.

Change out Wolvie for Spidey and I just made myself feel awkward.

BB Hood, Morrigan, Marrow.

Underrated since Day One.

Exclusive PS3 demo online now!

Ouch....score one for PS3. Any idea when or if Xbox will get one?

Happy days!

And Justin, I'm sure that the combination of my MVC2 rustiness and my opponents' proficiency would ensure I suffer many humiliating perfect defeats. Still doesn't diminish my excitement, though.

No Xbox demo. It's only a 2-player local demo, though.

That demo is shit.

Oh no, it's just local play. No CPU. Just like CAPCOM always does. The game still plays like it did on the dreamcast.
Thats expected.

The important question: Can you kill the fucking music?
Megaman's megabuster kills motherfuckers in this game. I owe many wins in the past to a well placed shot from the blue bomber.
fuck yea

still one of my favorite supers
Man the game looks ugly on an HDTV. I thought I had the smoothing filters off at first. I'd rather they take the time to update it like SF HD remix. I won't be repurchasing this since I already have the DC version.
I just bought...Marvel vs Capcom 2 again for my PS2, as I made a mistake last year...when I traded it in. I do not play games online, as I prefer having a hard copy than saving said game to my hard drive. Once again Wolverine is the best at what he does, and what he does isn't very nice.
