The Changeling

Thread Starter
So, being an utter arsewit, I made a mental note to tape The Changeling off the Sci-Fi channel last night. And then promptly forgot. I caught about five minutes of it, including a really creepy seance scene, but decided it was a film I'd rather see from the beginning and switched over.

I've seen it recommended by most of my fave Creature Corner posters, and now feel utterly stupid and ashamed for missing it.

My question is this: how much of an idiot am I?

Profound. You are a profound idiot.

Seriously, just buy it, it's a classic.

daniel, sir, you are an ass of the most inordinate and imcomparable variety...

...but if you can get yourself out of Mothercare for just five minutes at the moment, then you should speed over to movietyme.com and order the damn dvd. It's but a few pounds (8.99 i think) and is so mightily worth it it is beyond belief.

The Changeling...holy crap how that freaked me out. That movie is just so frightening. Scary as hell...course I was about 7 when I saw it. I remember having a little bit of relief when the baby cart chased down the woman. I laughed my head off at that. But go and buy it, George C. Scott at his scary best.

I saw this when I was just a lad and had nasty dreams about a ball rolling down the stairs for days after. Then I rented it like 4 years ago and it still was very frightening. An excellent movie and I think I want to rent it again, perhaps copy it this time. This would be a case of GOOD suspense (if you catch the reference).

IDIOTA!

All that aside, just listen to what everyone has said so far and get it. Don't rent it. Don't tape it. BUY IT ON DVD NOW!

'Nuff said!

Excellent film as others have said... a good companion piece to watch with Exorcist III, for a late night George C Scott double bill.

Word of advice though- I wouldn't buy the DVD just yet, especially if you're in the UK or have access to R2 DVDs. There's a new R2 DVD out in October which will have a commentary (as well as other extras IIRC), while the current US disc is pretty much a bare bones release.

Here's the link (scroll to the bottom):

It also says that the two excellent German releases of Carpenter's They Live and Prince of Darkness are going to hit UK shores soon plus a few other horror treats...

It's really a great film. I still rank it up there with one of the best ghost movies ever. I already own it on dvd. You should just buy it, I think that you'll really like it.
