Lily Allen - "It's Not Me, It's You"

So, I'm a little late in posting this as the album has been out for a while now. I like it. I loved the first album, and although this one is a lot different than that one, I still like it a lot.

The funny thing is, I have to attribute my picking up her first album to AOL. I was at my mother-in-law's house using her computer, and she still uses AOL. So when I first got on the computer, it was on the AOL splash page, and there was a Lily Allen video link on there that I clicked by accident. I liked the song, hunted down some more videos, and then bought the CD within a week.

I don't buy much new music these days, but this is one that I did keep up with. She was in Atlanta a few weeks ago, and I unfortunately was out of town so I didn't get to go. Considering that she canceled part of her first tour due to a performing anxiety attack, I hope she comes back here again.

I like this album much more than her first (not to say it was bad), though it can get a little repetitive. The song "Fuck You" though... goddamn, I could listen to that all day. And her cover of Britney Spears' "Womanizer" (while not on the album) makes the song actually palatable.

I think that's what I like best about her...she has this sweet little voice, but she's says the craziest things in her songs.

Yeah this is the first pop album in a long time I can honestly say I love. She's a great little lyricist, with a sweet little cockney voice, and her songs are pretty damn catchy. The Fear is one of the best pop songs I've heard in years.

My missus can't stand her tho (and still can't quite believe Im a fan, Im really not a pop guy), so this is one I listen to when I have the house to myself.

Nah, that's what we love. To add to Martianman's point, one of the great attractions of Alright, Still was that each song is about how and why someone is horrible.

The wife really loves her and I have to say she is growing on me.

Agreed on "The Fear" being a pretty great track. The new one is pretty good as well.

Thought both albums were great, although I feel like they are almost 2 parts of the same album. I feel as if they were very similar in theme and execution. Love them, though. Production is GREAT, lyrics are blunt, and they're just so much fun.

I liked her cover of The Clash's "Straight to Hell" quite a bit. No one was more surprised than me.
