Forgot all about this starting tonight on PBS. Branagh is brilliant in his adaptation of Henning Mankell's character. Check it out, one of the best crime dramas with northern European flair.

I thought it was pretty good. I wish it had been a little longer (maybe 30 more minutes). But a nice solid mystery. Definitely will be watching the next two episodes.

Just got done watching the first part. Branagh, as always, is amazing. I get such a kick out of watching him act. He elevates everything he is in. Also was cool to see Tony from series one and two of Skins turn up as the (*spoilers!!!*) killer. With that said, I did feel that there was not much northern European flair. Aside from the opening immolation sequence set in a field of flowers, I can barely tell the show is supposed to be set in Sweden. With the all British cast, it basically seems like a normal BBC series with minimal lip service paid to the supposed Swedish setting.

Anyway, I am really liking it and looking forward to the next two parts!

Watched part two last night. As awesome as Branagh is, I cannot help but think maybe Stellan Skarsgard might have been a better choice
