Battlestations - Pacific

Thread Starter
Just to continue my trend of being completely out of touch with my fellow CHUD gamers, I thought I'd start a thread about Battlestations - Pacific.

Watch that trailer. That's all in-game.

If you haven't played the first, Battlestations - Midway, it's a combination strategy/action game where you maneuver your units like any other strategy game, but can also jump in and take personal control of any battlefied element. It's highly entertaining, and this is coming from someone who can't micro-manage his way out of a paper sack. Pacific also lets you re-write history from a victorious Japanese perspective.

There are demos available for the new game for both pc and 360, and the game itself hits tomorrow. I have it pre-ordered on Steam and really can't wait.

You're not entirely out of touch - I liked but didn't love the first one. It felt like Silent Hunter, Combat Flight Sim and Total war all rolled into one ball, only for that ball to be less satisfying than any of those individual games on their own.

That does look fantastic though, shame it's not on the PS3 because I could certainly see me buying that (My pc's not up for gaming at the moment)

Downloading demo so I can try it tonight. Thanks for the heads up, looks interesting (not sure if my PC will be able to handle it though).

It's been a while since I played B:Midway, but did that game have an online feature? I can't remember since the console I played it on wasn't connected so I never even checked for it.
Pretty much seems like a game that's crying out for it.

Anyway I'm waiting for the reviews first before deciding since the first game was only so-so in my opinion. Just incase they screwed it up.
