Awesome news.

And speaking of The Last Winter, I finally saw it and I thought it was a nice slow burn type film. I really wonder if Fessenden plans on doing anything outside of the Wendigo mythology.

The film will also hit the LA Film Fest this June if you can't wait.
I suggest waiting. We watched a tape or some fucking thing in Philly.

I waited to see THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD because IFC was "releasing" it. Big fucking mistake.

What was wrong with the quality? I only ask because they sent me a screener dvd and the quality is pretty fantastic.... I can't even imagine what went wrong with that.

It looked really digital/video-y and it kind of cheapened it. Like, to me it looked better in trailers I watched on my computer because it was really clear and sharp and you could tell it was shot on film (at least I think so) and had pretty nice cinematography for such a low budget. But somehow the digital projection at the film fest made it look like it was shot on video. The sound was also really bad.

This is really petty but I think the weak presentation negatively colored my feelings on the film a bit. I was very excited to see it and came out feeling a little disappointed. A lot of it might have been the sound, it was harder to appreciate the funny banter and the chemistry between Monaghan and Fessenden when you couldn't clearly hear the dialogue.

Now imagine projecting that DVD onto a movie screen. With the 2.0 sound turned on. I would have loved to watch it at home.

I'm not being hyperbolic; my guess is they projected a dvd in the movie theater. At BEST it was a Digital Beta tape. And as Strangefist said, really marred the viewing experience.

That's not hyperbolic at all. I really think that's what it was too. I mean it certainly looked like that, and they've done it before; I remember a big letdown two years ago was their screening of Blast of Silence at the Bridge - I was really excited to see this obscure gem on the big screen, I show up and they're literally just projecting a copy of the (yet to be released at the time, but still) Criterion DVD! Come on, I could've just done that at home!

Exactly. Like when a bar screens a DVD. You do that for free in a bar, awesome. Don't charge me $10 for it.
