School of Seven Bells

They sound like a weird mixture of Debut/Post era Bjork, This Mortal Coil and the Cocteau twins and once you stop trying to figure out the influences they're kind of a cool band. There music is definitely more atmosphere music than anything else, I couldn't see myself sitting down and really listening to any of their songs, but as background music it's really quite captivating and I'm surprised their album hasn't been utterly whored out to be used in films and adverts.

One of their better songs can be heard here

Pretty good tune. I thought the vocals sounded familiar so I looked them up and it's the ladies from On! Air! Library! whose album I really liked (then they broke up). I'll probably pick up the LP.

I heard "Chain" in passing on the radio recently, and it's a glorious tune- I haven't checked out the rest of the album yet, but this group is currently on my list of bands to keep an eye on.

The album is definitely growing on me the more I listen to it. I played it to death when I first got it and then sort of abandoned the album for a while, but picking it up a few months later I'm finding that it works as an interesting cohesive whole.

"Half Asleep" is a really beautiful song. Like the rest of the album as well.
