Happiness of the Katikuris?

I rented it, forgot about it, popped it in before I had to return it... and saw some freaky deaky claymation that might qualify as either cool or sketchy depending on the rest of the movie.

(Seeing as how it's from the Miike that did Audition, and somebody here should have seen it Is it worth renting again?

That depends ... Happiness of the Katakuries is NOT a horror film. It does contain a tongue-snatching claymation-demon and some singing, dancing zombies but it really is an incredibly oddball comedy/musical. That said, I absolutely love the film. It is funny and weird in a way that only Miike can achieve. But it is nothing like AUDITION or DEAD OR ALIVE.

happiness is more of a splatterstick comedy musical drug induced freakshow

go find yourself a copy of full metal yakuza for a more splatterous comedy by Miike
