360 died

My launch day Canadian 360 just got what I guess is called "the red rings" when I tried to turn her on. What a horrible thing. She's given me years of fun and entertainment, at least I have my PS3 to hold me over...

Anyways, I was wondering if some of the experience members could help me out with my options? Does Microsoft still cover launch 360's?

I don't know that a launch 360 would still be covered under even the extended RRoD warranty, but it's worth a shot.

Otherwise, a new Arcade box is probably cheaper than sending the old one in for repairs.

Probably should use the thread that was created for this purpose (and tons of advice in that thread too).

Domingo, When I got my...Launch 360, it got the RROD, and, I didn't even pay for the...Warrantee. After originally paying for the repair, Microsoft not only reimbursed me, but they gave me a warrantee that covered my 360 for...3 years.

Thanks folks. I saw the towel trick on Youtube, but I hear it only makes things worse eventually, probably safer to send it in. I'm going to go the Microsoft route for as long as it's reasonable to repair this thing. If I spend any serious bank for a repair though... I'll be pissed.

It costs what it costs but M$ is at least cool enough to give you a free month of gold membership for the hassle and they give you a warranty after repairs for I believe a year.

I believe I spent $99 to repair mine but I don't know if prices changed in the last six months.

I bet if I make a fuss I can get it fixed for free.

I wouldn't bet on it.

If you setup the repair online you can see if your going to owe Microsoft anything.

The warrenty for my console ended 3/21/07 and it was still covered under the new 3 ring policy and was free.

Since there is already a thread for this topic, perhaps we can use this one to see how many ways the word "warranty" can be spelled incorrectly.

You don't post much but when you do...straight for the throat.
