Highwaymen

I'm sitting down watching Final Destination 2 on DVD last night, and i check the extras. The Trailer for this, which apparently is one long action scene from the film, is in it.

Its from the Director of They and the Hitcher, whos name escapes me at the moment. But heck its got "Jesus" Cavaziel, Rhono Mitra, and Colm "Give me what i want, and i'll go away" Feore. I think i'll give it at least a decent shot.

Btw, since this is my first post here, i might as well say who i am. My name Is over there, but im the horror mod at Corona/Cinescape.

I posted a thread on this last week but it got buried. Here...I cut and pasted my thoughts from that topic:

Could this be Harmon's true return to form? Just saw the trailer for this attached to the 'FD 2' DVD. Holy fuckin' shit. It begins with an incredibly cool car chase. Plot? One man, in a suped-up muscle car, chases a deranged killer across the county. The killer is apparently heavily crippled and relies on all sorts of medical braces to move around, but goddamn, the man knows how to use his car.

When the trailer was through I could do nothing but grin from ear to ear. Fast cars? Killers? Babes in peril? I'm so there. This looks a bit like how I would've done The Car remake I've always wanted to write.

YT - I know that you did some coverage of the film, care to shed some light on the buzz surrounding this film?

If i had the old CA page to help me out a bit, it wouldn't be a problem. I've been trying to dig anything up on this, but New Line doesn't even have a site or release date up as last i saw.

Colm looks like a beast in all the robotics, which makes this look all the more interesting. I'm in no way a shill, but hell, it's got my interest piqued. And look at it this way, theres no "Wes Craven presents" attached to it.

I believe it's slated for late this year. My article on Highwaymen will run in issue #3 on stands, I believe, in October. Harmon describes it in similar terms as the Hitcher -- lots of wide open spaces, grinding metal, relentless pursuit. In one quote he calls it the "last gasp of analog" -- meaning when these cars collide, he wants it to be real, not something put together on a computer. He wants you to feel every pop and squeal of metal colliding into metal. Once I have the article finished, I'll post some quotes!
