Burn Notice Season 3 - Page 4

Doakes lives! He's even still in Miami.

Not even getting blown to bits can stop Doakes, motherfuckers!

In case you missed it, the game show that's sweeping the nation: What is Burn Notice?

I feel the same way about white collar.

The answer is: a funnier show than Saturday Night Live.

Might have been clever if it wasn't such a shameless plug for the show.

The Mentalist for me.

Campbell's Carusoisms were pretty good...

It finally hit me - fashion bad guy's voice had a really dubbed sound to it, like Alan Rickman's American voice when getting the gun from Willis in Die Hard.

That bothered me the whole show.

agreed. Totally made me laugh.

My wife didn't understand the Carusoisms and thought it was just Campbell being cheesy. God bless Chuck Finley.

I eagerly anticipate the day that Bruce introduces Fiona to someone as Tawny Kitaen.

well I wasn't anticipating that ending! Blowin shit up is fun.

I can't believe that Burn Notice didn't record last Thursday and my DVR didn't pick it up until Last night. Maybe the Olympics had something to do with it??

I dunno, I'm just glad I caught it because the finale is this Thursday.

Funny you mention that, neaux. My wife and I were watching something else on DVR while this was taping and we had a power outage. When the power came back on I quickly set it to tape the repeat of the episode 3 hours later though.

So, this "Simon" that got off the plane...we have to know him, right? Is there any other reason they've gone to such motions to not show us his face?

I got a kick out of Gilroy's death scene. The whole "Oh, did I mention I have a bomb strapped to me?" was a great way for his character to go out.

Freaking Tony Almeida. I got excited when I saw his name on the credits, but his character was pretty piss poor.

I don't know how Rob Zombie's TV directorial debut will be with CSI:Miami, but I'd love to see him direct a Burn Notice episode too. I could see Zombie bringing back those Rebel flag white supremacists to chase down Westen for an entire episode for some hillbilly hijinx.

Too rushed, and as soon as I saw Dillahunt's name in the opening credits I knew who Simon was going to be but I love him as a villain (and he didn't disappoint here) so that was all good. Some good action beats, but it seemed like they got caught short on time and realized where they wanted Michael to be at the beginning of next season and had to rush to get there. They would have been better served with a 90 minute or 2 hour finale where Simon got more of a chance to be a bastard I think. Fiona and Sam found that bomb so quickly it was almost laughable.

Michael's Mom was the MVP of the episode. Michael realizing she was giving him the old warning she'd give when his Dad had been drinking, her not buying a single thing the FBI agent was telling her. Her response to the FBI agent ("He paid for mine") was incredibly touching. Also, Fiona being the only one of the three that had the faith she'd hold out against the questioning.

Essentially though, this was a quick hour to get Michael back in the hands of Management. We did at least learn a little more about the burn notice so while Michael now looks like he's gone backwards a season the overall story has advanced.

Yeah this episode did seem rushed. Burn notice has some of the best ratings on cable. It deserves a 2 hour finale.

Garrett Dillahunt never fails to bring the good stuff. It would have been very disappointing for the show to kill Simon off so quickly, so I'm happy that the possibility is open for a return.

And yeah, glad to see Sharon Gless show some other shades to her mom, who's usually a very one note character. She did a nice job. Come to think of it, I've warmed up to her this year. Michael's mom doesn't seem like a superfluous "b-plot" character any more.

I enjoyed it alot too. Dillahunt does play some good villians, but like has been said, he didn't have enough time in one episode to completely see the crazy. Well, what he did do tho, was pretty darn good.

I've always liked Sharon Gless in the role, but I think she really started to shine with the Cagney and Lacey episode when she had to con what she essentially made her friend, and she was really good last night too.

The plug for the Hyundai was pretty hilarious. Ramming it into a building... and then Sam saying how he really likes it. Best product placement ever!

I agree with the thoughts that it could have been 90 minutes at least, there was enough there.. but it was a better cliffhanger IMO than the last season with Michael jumping out of the helicopter away from John Mahoney. The room he's in at the end has a Prisoner vibe to it which I liked.

Thanks to Hulu I got to see the last episode of the season. I can see Michael being some type of clean up man. I kept getting a feeling that Simon was about to call the old man Dad or something. Would explain why he wants him to alive

Renewed for seasons 5 and 6. Season 4 airs June 3rd.
Season 4 is starting in a few weeks, 1st episode back is Thursday June 3rd at 9/8c. Also, did you see they'll be adding a new spy to the cast? Coby Bell from Third Watch will be a permanent member this season.
I hear this will be back on June 3rd. Is that the case?
Edit: Nevermind.

Just read that they will also be adding Burt Reynolds to the cast this season. He will apparently be playing an old retired spy. Seems like they're really revamping the cast for the upcoming season.
