Mad Men Season One Question *Spoilers* - Page 2

I have all the episodes off iTunes, and I'll be buying the box set anyway. But god, the ending to Mountain King, so good.

Also, this is kind of spoiler-riffic, so stay away Patrick, but these are pretty amazing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nobodys...7606178887453/

Eh, the thread title has "spoilers" in it. From season one:

I meant there were season 2 spoilers. My favorite scene/shot from the show isn't in that gallery, though.

I need this on my desk

I've had a few people tell me that they didn't get Mad Men. I think it got built up over here as the next big thing and when it turned out to be subtle and nuanced people didn't understand where the praise was coming from. Of course I've only seen the first four episodes of the first season thus far (I got it just before I got completely bombed with work) but I think even after those four episodes I'm starting to understand and be enthralled by these characters. From what I can tell it's not a twist based show as much as its a character study, and I'm finding that aspect really fascinating at the moment.

There are almost no twists. It's how things are absolutely brilliantly crafted. The level of layers the series provides is amazing. Certainly one of the best if not the best ensemble casts in Tv.

It has had quite a considerable impact over here, lots of fashion shows about getting that 60s look, lots of musicians taking on more formalised dress styles and Comic Relief (our big national fund raising thing for Africa) based this years official comic relief music video around the style.

I think there was more of an individual backlash than anything else

They need one of Betty
vomiting in Don's new car
I want one of Don alone in the office kitchen with a beer after Betty's kicked him out of the house, which is the aformentioned favorite shot of mine. I love the way they use the music in that scene.

I love those illustrations, even though they look like the opening to The Nanny.

Does anyone know how to download those pictures? I want this as my desktop, but I can't seem to get it as an image file.
There's a big old DOWNLOAD now button or you could just right click and save as

Right, but it doesn't save as an image file. It saves as an unknown file that my computer can't read.

It saved as a jpg for me

Thank you Spike, you're a doll. I don't care what that Bob Clark says.

This show is so damn good. Wish it didn't take so long for AMC to churn out their dvd sets, because I missed more than half of S2.

What's Bob Clark being saying?

Any idea on when Season 2 is out on DVD, I'm having to catch up with the
DVD sets and I'd like to be caught up enough to watch Season 3 when it airs.
Probably June/July, if when S1 came out is any indication.
July 14th.

I just wanna know this- is more about Draper's past uncovered in S2? I thought that was one of the strongest subplots of S1 but it just kinda got swept under the rug and forgotten.
"Who is Don Draper" continues to be one of the 'mysteries' of the show, but a lot of season 2 is spent exploring that psychologically rather than literally like in season 1.

I hate to go off on one of my typical geek tangents, but whenever I watch the show I always think that Jon Hamm would have made a perfect Harvey Dent.

I'm glad I discovered the show this year. With the end of The Wire and Sopranos, I didn't have a must see show, but that problem has been alleviated.

Ok, cool.

I really need to rewatch S1 again. One of the best first seasons of any show ever, IMHO.
