This is the truth. The truth. I'm not even halfway through it and I had to say that.

"White Darkness."

"Townsend, your new name is HYDRA, because I want you to get extra head!"

The truth.

I'm in. Named my bracket after my username.

I love the fact that they're not blocking MMOD for international viewers.

I hate the fact that Syracuse plays at 2 am local time on Friday.
Robert Morris! Keep it going! Got to love that 28-22 halftime score in the ND-Old Dominion game. What a barnburner.
Moon Township's gotta be bumpin!
Who's this smug Prince Charming-haired douchebag doing all these UPS commercials? I'm going to send a letter to UPS (via Fed Ex) explaining how much I want to punch that guy in the face. He's ruining my March Madness viewing.

RM lead sitting at 5 with 14 minutes left. Hang on guys! BYU holding on to their lead over Florida. OD and ND tied at 43 with 3 minutes left. Good games to kick it off.
OD-ND going down to the wire. OD up 3 with 26 seconds left. And Florida just took the lead with 2 minutes left. Craziness.
I'm glad I have Villanova out early. They may win but they killed me last year.

Picking against ND is fun. Almost as fun as picking Duke out early. Go Louisville.
BYU was my bracket-busting special this year (since they'd play next weekend in Salt Lake City). Looks like they're gonna bust me themselves. I also have Nova going to Indianapolis, so my brackets may be completely screwed within the first two hours of play.
Same here Jeb.
So the best player west of the Misssissippi gets his pocket picked in overtime, and the Gators still can't seal the deal? Maybe I'm not dead yet.
BYU up 4! This is a great game.
'Nova not dead yet.
Online feed for Nova/RM just went out. Yeesh.
Mine is up. Nova nearly wasted it's time. They have the ball with .9 left.

ETA: HOLY FUCK THEY MISSED AN EASY TIP ON THE INBOUNDS PASS...FUCK YOU, JAY WRIGHT
post #69 of 191
Perfect set up for Nova, just couldn't rein in that pass. 2 overtime games and a 1 point buzzer beater in the first 3 games? The '10 Tourney is looking phenomenal so far.
Bracket still alive!
Ugh. How much money did Nova pay those refs? Terrible calls at the end of the game.
Thanks, BYU and 'Nova for hanging in there.

And the UPS guy? He's actually the guy that works for the ad company that pitched UPS the original idea. He did the demo, and they liked the way he did it so much, they said they'd hire them if that guy did the commercials. I read an article about him a few months ago on some website.
Also, let's see if Murray State can keep up the obligatory 13 over 4 victory. I think in one bracket, I picked every 13th seed.

Good for him, then. I guess I'll give him a pass and direct all my hate towards those Capital One "Ivan Brothers" commercials.
Ooh, Murray State. Stick out foot, pull trigger. Got to hold on to the ball.
Come on Vandy, make those free throws!

ETA: Holy shit, close games this year.

4.2 seconds to put up 2 without getting fouled. I think Murray St.'s got it. Shit. Although it'll be less of an upset now when UTEP goes to the sweet 16.
Murray State!

And one time losing to a 13 seed, ok. Two times? I will never pick Vanderbilt in an NCAA tournament bracket game ever again.
Wow. What a game. What a tourney so far.
Yeah, that was a classic finish. Can't get upset about that (even if I picked Vandy to go another round). Teams are seriously fighting for it this year which is great to see. Only one blow out and two overtimes already? One buzzer win? In the first ROUND? Holy shit!

Sam Houston hanging tough. Tied at 55 with 3:41 to play. Baylor is kind of trendy pick to cause damage in the South. A lot of brackets will go up in smoke if Sam Houston pulls off the upset.

Including mine. I've gotta going to the final four. C'mon Baylor. If they don't win I'm ripping up my brackets.

Also picked St. Mary's for a slight upset. Hope that comes through.
Looks like Sam Houston is crapping the bed in the last two minutes.
I think Baylor likes to apply a lot of pressure late in the game, so that's not a surprise (yay, they won). Kinda wondering why CBS didn't switch to show the end of the game during the St.Mary's/Richmond game (with 18 mins left).
Seeing as how I had Notre Dame meeting Richmond in the Sweet 16, it's safe to say my South bracket is busted.
If you had #3 Georgetown going far you are screwed. down 17 with 12 to go. If this holds up it looks like 13 is the new 12. And with a 15 seed almost losing we may be a few years away from a #1 seed going down. I bet that honor will go to a Big 10 team.
Come on, OU. HOLD ON!
I don't care if it screws up my 12 brackets, I will love it if the Bobcats knock off Georgetown. Eighth seed in their conference tourney to knocking off the Big East juggernaut

Ohio!

I've actually picked a 16/1 upset. It's my hard and fast rule to always pick against Syracuse in the first round. Always. I can't stand them. It won't happen, but I'm hoping for a repeat of '05 with Vermont topping Cuse again in the first round.

Stupid pick. I know. But a rule is a rule.

I'm not calling it a stupid pick. Yet. I've been burnt before.

This is video of Syracuse's practice session. It's a layup line, it means nothing, but it's fun to watch... unless you're jvc.

OK, now Texas falls to a 1 point overtime game? Because a dude couldn't hit a free throw? This is getting a little ridiculous. Guess it's not my year.

That game was hard to pick, because Wake Forest looked like shit their last 5-6 games, and apparently so did UT. I think I read a stat that both teams coming into the tournament were a combined 5-9 in their last month of basketball or something like that. I went against Wake because they looked completely lifeless in the ACC tournament.
Hmmm. I like Cornell, but I wasn't sure they'd score 22 points on Temple in the entire first half.
Go Ivy League.

It's Big Ten day with all 5 teams playing. Minnesota's in a tough one. Everyone's picking against Purdue. Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Ohio State should roll.

May I ask how you came to irrationally hate SU? Not a fan of oranges?

First day, not so bad. Yay, Murray State. Boo, Ohio.

Going to take a nap for a couple of hours so that I'm bright for the 1:40am tipoff.

It has to do with the fact that I started following IU basketball as a kid in Indiana during the 86-87 season when IU beat Syracuse to win the title. A stupid kid at my school, trying to be contrary, became a huge Syracuse fan. He was really obnoxious about it. I couldn't stand that kid and I guess the hate spilled over. I came to hate them for their cupcake pre-conference schedule and the fact that for years they wouldn't play any pre-confrerence games outside the Carrier Dome (or MSG). Syracuse has gotten quite a bit better on scheduling, but irrational hate is, well, irrational. I still root against them, revel in the occasional embarrassing upset, and contend that the 2003 NCAA tournament never happened. It was canceled because of the Iraq War. Don't try to tell me otherwise.

Go Catamounts.

Parenthetically, Mike Bellotti is leaving his position as Oregon AD to take a job with ESPN. Probably the football shenanigans drove him to it, but I'm sure that having to fire his buddy Kent didn't help.

Lots of rumors swirling about who's going to get the big Nike bucks to replace Kent, but until Gonzaga finishes up in the Dance, no one's going to be announced: IMHO, the job is Few's if he wants it.
Purdue starting to run away with it. 13-0 run to start the second half. 15 point lead with 12 to go. Losing Hummel sucks; but Purdue looks like they are finally clicking. Enough to handle Sienna anyway.

Wisconsin has held Wofford to 19 first half points. Now that's Wisconsin basketball. Ugly.

Ah, I hated those kids growing up. At least I came by my fandom honestly.

The Bills' Super Bowl era happened during junior high and those that didn't like football got to throw it in every Bills fan's face that week, so yeah, I can understand. Something similar happened during every NCAA tournament, as Syracuse would lose in some painful way, and we had to hear it from douchey Duke fans entranced by the Laettner Era.

Sadly, my Finally Orange DVD disputes your claims.

Wisconsin and Wofford taking turns trying to give the game away. That's like 10 bad shots in a row.
