My company is running a pilot fundraiser in partnership with a Dayton, Ohio area elementary school to raise money for their Accelerated Reader program. The goal is to raise $1500 to buy AR books. The school is Saville Elementary in Riverside, Ohio and is part of the Mad River School District. More information about the school can be found here: madriverschools.org/school_home

This is the first fundraiser of hopefully many. If it's a success, then we can replicate it for other schools in the area and across the state and country. Maybe even your school. Plus, you get to have something you enjoy watching, reading, listening to, or playing. Beats a proof of donation stub.

Over 1000 books, DVDs, CDs, and video games are for sale at www.supportsaville.com This URL will take people to Saville's store on Glyde.com and proceeds from each and every item sold will go directly to the school.

Below is an excerpt of a press release we intend to send to the Dayton Daily News newspaper with a little more information. In full disclosure, you can read more about Glyde here: http://glyde.com/about

Saville Elementary has teamed up with Glyde.com, an innovative new online marketplace, to raise money for its Accelerated Reader program. Books, DVDs, CDs, and video games donated by the Mad River community will be available for sale on the Glyde marketplace. This "Internet age book drive" will give the sale a nationwide reach with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Saville Elementary.

Visit www.supportsaville.com to shop from over 1000 books, DVDs, CDs, and video games - most under $3.00.

The goal is to raise $1500 which will buy nearly 160 Accelerated Reader books. The online sale will run from now until June 1st, 2009.
