Hardboiled Horror Tales

I've got a webcomic running at DreadCentral.com. It's got guns and monsters and blood and a whole lot of "@#$!!" symbols in the dialogue.
You can see the first installment HERE.

The index page for all twelve installments can be found HERE.

I loved this stuff. Some great action choreography and iconic images (the face being ripped off from behind was a favorite).

I just finished THE HIT and can confirm that it's an horror/action thrill ride.
However, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that (sissy gangster who was crying constantly didn't die. I also thought the crazy Irish cop would emerge from the lake so he could be killed properly).

YOU'RE SOFT, DOUG!

There's always room for a sequel, Wade!

HARDBOILED HORROR ORIGINS: MAHONEY

He became my favorite character when I saw the "....REMINISCE!" panel.
I enjoyed seeing this story unfold over the last few weeks. Haven't read the last installmet yet. Waiting for some relaxing me-time.

Nice work, BobClark. Bookmarked!

Was delighted by the powerhouse finale. Eager for the next tale from this macabre anthology.
That's crackin' stuff!
Great stuff BobDoug. For what it's worth I also thought Mahoney was the shit.

Awesome as always Doug.

Good stuff. Just curious, is B&W a stylistic choice? Color always seems hit or miss in comics.

Stylistic choice. But I'm experimenting with some color:
Look forward to seeing your experimentation with color. I was having a discussion last night about color in photography (specifically how color seems to leave a print looking more flat as compared to a B&W print). Side note, Kodak seems to have made some progression in regards to the flatness of color prints. Check out their Endura Metallic Paper. Stunning.

Finally, a creepy old lady we can root for!
I hope she enjoys her botomless pocketbook full of mugger parts.
I like the look on the mugger's face when he's split in two.

Very nice. The way you present titles in that first panel - is that a Steranko riff, or Will Eisner, or should I just go fuck myself?

Eisner riff.
I cannot advise on that last question. You do whatever your conscience dictates.
Wasn't it just one question with several choices? Speaking of which, I think I just earned the last choice.
Option C was rhetorical; I'm going to do that anyway.

Again, the movement in your stuff is what always grabs me. Like Eisner mixed with Aragones. And I look forward to Muckety Muck re-registering to argue over what your comic is saying about creepy old ladies.

That's good to hear (not the Muckety Muck part, although a welcome his interprtation). This was an exercise in storytelling more than anything else. I've got another longer story scripted, but I think I'll do a few more of these Cracked/Plop/Archie Madhouse inspired gags first.
As usual I was late to the party on this one, but that afforded me the edvantage of seeing all of "The Hit Got Hairy" at once. Like chocolate & peanut butter: hard bolied and horror are 2 great tastes that taste great together. Keep 'em comin'!
I have no clue how I missed the first bunch of posts about this, but man.. reeaaaally love these Bob, they're right up my alley. Love the artwork, from tiny details like the coin flip to a face being torn off through the backseat of a lemon (speaking of, the old timey dialogue too.. lemons.. hopped up on goofballs..) that one poor cop bastard who gets his arms torn off, ejected through the windshield due to limb deprivation and then shot in the head.

Really fun stuff!
Cool stuff man. The most recent one is my favorite. I love comics that loop around.
Bump! What happened to the strip? Really dug what I had seen so far....
Yeah, this is *@#%$ awesome!

Thanks! Working on the new one as we speak. I'll post the link once it's up.

I have a feeling Bob's current bout with alcoholism will make this the best Hard boiled Horror tale yet!
I want a t-shirt with the image from the last strip of the skeleton holding the Tommy Gun. Certified sick as fuck.

For no one reason in particular, I'm running way behind my self-imposed deadline. Here's a glimpse of some upcoming underwater zombie action.

Part 2 is up!
Awesome. I was hoping it would go in that direction.
Engrossing chapter, I like that fish in the one panel who is casually swimming around all the underwater mayhem.
