Super Robot Taisen-DS (long title)

The full name of Super robot Taisen is appropriately long.

Super Robot Taisen Original Generation Saga Endless Frontier is the official name of the anime/boob jiggling/combo juggling nintendo ds game that will make fans of Xmen Vs Street Fighter 2 delight in the long winded rpg battles that result from continual tag-team fight combos.

Is that a run-on sentence? Good.

This game is silly. Boob jokes that continually reference the Double D bombs that anime girls flaunt are par for the course. But the dialogue is quite funny and does remind me of the Chinatown Wars dialogue.

The fights are the highlights of the game though. Tag-teaming your party to continually juggle your enemies in the air is just damn fun. Play through a battle long enough and you get super moves too.

While this game may not do the trick for everyone, I'm currently enjoying the heck out of this game.

This is actually the game that I'm in the middle of right now as well. I wrapped up Suikoden: Tierkreis on the DS and moved on to this one. After Suikoden almost any other DS RPG would have a lot to live up to, but this one shines with the battle system for sure. The overworld and exploration visuals are somewhat lacking (but I find that they have their own sort of minimalist charm) but the graphics and animation for combat are great. Large, well animated sprites steal the show.

The boob jokes are actually kind of funny without being TOO over the top and perverted, if that makes any sense and after a while it's not even as noticeable as it is at first. It's corny, but well done.

The game is VERY linear and even somewhat formulaic, and the boss battles are numerous and can drag on a bit too long, but it's a blast. It helps that the combat is as much fun as it is and it's also helpful that the game does not take itself seriously at all.

This is way more fun than I anticipated, even though I screwed up and died after playing ten minutes without saving/not healing my characters. Argh.
