Had a chance to play through the demo. A few thoughts.
.)The sunlight is jarring. Thus far, I don't like it. Could just be I'm a critter of habit.
.)The two levels they chose for the demo are boring, and really have almost no flavor to them. Hopefully, it's just those two levels.
.)melee weapons represent an awesome tactical decision as opposed to pistols. The fact that you can hurt your teammates will prevent "corner camping."
.)I do not know how the spawning patterns will work, but the charger and spitter need to be infrequent spawners in versus. It's early, but I'd like to think my instincts in re: left 4 dead are pretty good. And if the spitter plays in versus the way it does in single player it is going to be horribly overpowered. The charger, if it doesn't have a meter like a tank, is going to fuck people up.
.)I have a gut feeling this game is going to be way harder for the human team in versus than the original was.
.)Having to move to turn off alarms and stop a horde is a great addition. Be prepared for people running like crazy if they kill 3-4 of the special infected so they can try to turn alarm off before they respawn.
.)I dislike the voices for three of the four characters. Maybe they'll grow on me.
.)Love the "heft" and feel of the new weapons.
.)it seemed much harder to crown the witch. Don't know if she reacts more quickly, they boostered her, or what. She also seems to be always standing, rather than sitting.
.) the "boomer vials" you can throw are friggin' sweet.
.)The adrenalin seems worthless except in very narrow circumstances.
