McG says, "I don't think there's been a film I've made where there hasn't been some kind of physical fight. I mean, I've been headbutted by an A-list star. Square in the head. An inch later and my nose would have been obliterated. I probably shouldn't (reveal who it was).

"But it was Bill Murray. Y'know, it's a passionate industry."

I heard he pretty much made it clear to Liu she wasn't as big a star as he, Diaz, and Barrymore. Not sure what started it, but he hurt her feelings, and belittled her pretty bad.

The thing with Liu might be hearsay, but it sure as hell sounds like Murray, and that is cold fucking vicious if true. Also, did Murray and Chase actually come to blows? I recall reading that it was broken up before anything physical happened.

Anyway, moral of the story: McG = Doormat. Total confirmation. Since that story doesn't end with "...and then I jumped his ass and sank my teeth into his throat" he should have kept it to himself.

I love what a complete fucking asshole Bill Murray is, apparently to everyone. Behavior that would annoy me in others, behavior that is undeniably outrageous, offensive, and borderline insane is all cool if it's Murray doing it. I think I'd even give him a pass on beating a person to death, if it was someone like Ashton Kutcher or something.

Anjelica [Huston], you're wonderful. Willem [Dafoe] -- you're great. But, Bill -- you are a bastard. You are horrible to work with. My question is for Wes and the cast. What's it like to work with someone as awful and difficult as Bill Murray?"

According to the column, Murray said absolutely nothing in response. Both Huston and Anderson tried to respond to the question.

"Bill isn't a bastard," Huston replied.

...the fight between murray and chase did get physical...
...it happened while billy joel was onstage singing his heart out...
...bill murray was the newbie...
...and he felt he had to be the voice of the casts discontent after chase left the show to be a movie star...

Another role offered to Bill is Larry Flynt, as in The People Vs. Milos fucking Forman tried to get him to do it, and he turned it down flat.

If he really does end up making Ghostbusters 3, which I kinda doubt, I bet we can expect some hijinks.

If I had to take a guess at what really happened I would say that there was a gossipy report that said McGinty and Murray butted heads on the set of their latest film, and some foreign journalist not getting that it's just a figure of speech asked him about it, and he thought it was funny so kept the story up.

I'm basing that on absolutely nothing, but it is the gossip forum, so I'm pretty sure I'm allowed.

I think a question that's getting lost in the rumors and panties flying around this thread is why Bill Murray, apparently surrounded by McG, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu, singled out Lucy Liu for abuse. Did he have enough to go around? Was he planning to proceed in reverse alphabetical order?
