Scribblenauts - DS - Page 2

I just started playing this game yesterday and have been having a blast. Even before trying any of the puzzles, I spent at least an hour just messing around in the Playground mode, seeing what sort of weird stuff I could summon and interact with. I was a little disappointed that nothing different happened to you if you went through the teleporter while carrying a fly, but I guess being able to make a chupacabra fight the Wickerman makes up for it. I love the fact that I have already managed to earn "bioterrorist" and "smuggler" merits in addition to some of the more mundane ones.

5-1 puzzle or 5-1 action? I completed the puzzle level in lots of different ways but never noticed anything resembling a secret. However, I haven't gotten around to the action one yet.

Puzzle. Not a secret action or anything, just the friendly little fellow hiding at the bottom of the ocean under the island if you pan all the way down with the camera.

A friend brought this over yesterday and we tried to stump it. It knew 'Wicker Man'. The Wicker Man attacks you.

Has anybody tried "Chulhu" yet? Because he's in the game. I saw a vid on youtube of him fighting God on a skateboard wielding a shotgun. It was a draw.

(I wish I had a DS so I could see if there's any more Lovecraft in the game. It sucks being broke.)

Urban dictionary has chulhu down as talking like the cookie monster whilst giving a blowjob.

Did you mean cthulhu? I'm pretty sure it was the most talked about appearance on most of the preview sites. Geek favourite n all.

Shoggoth is in it too. And a bunch of other fictional/cryptozoological creatures -- chupacabra, Jabberwock, Jersey Devil...

I'm trading this in later in the week. I'm not surprised gaming journalists went apeshit over it at E3 because they couldn't have played it for more than a few hours. Give it a day. One day and you'll realize you just spent $30 on a flash game you can play on your DS. At best, it's amusing. So is Keyboard Cat. Keyboard Cat is free.

shrink ray

lulz

I've been using a wand to turn all my enemies into frogs. It's more humane.

I found out if you have God hanging out, and you summon a Vampire, the vampire attacks god and turns him into a vampire minion.

Also Ether is a nice way to knock people out for a little bit.

oh, and type in Large Hadron Collider if you want to destroy everything.

Is there anything that will float in lava? I seem to fall in Lava constantly and wings over lava never works out well for me.

Does anyone have any idea why the stingray is red? It only seems strange because I went to a high school that had a red stingray for a mascot but I really don't think that there is much chance of any of the game developers attending the same school. I also think it's amusing that the "virgin" is a guy in what appears to be a Steelers shirt.

Sounds cute. I'll have to go back and take a look at that later.

If this game could produce either a proton pack or a gunstar I'd go and buy a DS right now.

It's also one of his weaker efforts in a while. It's just not particularly funny, and sort of comes across as genuinely mean spirited at points.

It does produce a proton pack, although it looks nothing like one and shoots blobs of something instead of streams. It does kill ghosts though!

You can also spawn a Necronomicon and a cultist (other synonyms might work too, I just tried "cultist"). The cultist will pick up the Necronomicon and fire spells from it, turning any living thing it hits into a skeleton warrior.

After spending hours trying to overcome the terrible controls and physics in the game, I can't really blame him.
I just think his humor on this one is kind of deflated because this time he's just parroting what everyone else has already said.

I haven't been playing for long, but I can see the charm wearing off quickly. As much as I love coming up with batshit solutions, the glitchiness can be really frustrating. But then I kill a shark by throwing a toaster in the water and suddenly things don't seem so bad.
