A posthumous Dilla album produced under the supervision of Ma Dukes and PETE ROCK. I'm very excited.

Anyone pick this up yet? I'm going to grab it tomorrow (or later tonight on iTunes, depending on how I feel.) I want to know how excited I should be.

The only impression I've heard so far was from a local rapper/producer/promo guy that I follow on Twitter. He was listening to it a week or so ago, and said it felt like maybe it was some tracks Dilla wouldn't have thought were good enough for release.

I'm sure they're not greatest hits, but it's still probably better than a ton of other crap out there, right?

And there are far worse people to send a royalties check to.

Most of it is from the beat CDs, but like you said - better than most shit on the market right now! The difference is the way it's arranged, and Pete Rock did a great job putting this album together. I liked how he cut it together to sound like a radio show because once upon a time, you'd never fucking hear J Dilla on the radio.

Good album! Pete Rock did a great job. The guests were also fantastic. You've got the regulars like Frank Nitty, DOOM and Black Thought... but also guys like Raekwon, Blu and Havoc from Mobb Deep! Fantastic.

But, as usual, Dilla outshines every guest appearance on the album. The beats are the stars of the album, and they're worth the $13 price tag. Thumbs up! Check it out.

And check out the great album artwork: link.
