In all my years of wading through gossip sites, I can't say I've ever heard anything bad about Morgan Freeman... until now.

National Enquirer

Quote:
WORLD EXCLUSIVE BOMBSHELL: Oscar winner's Morgan Freeman's decade-long affair with his step - GRANDDAUGHTER, a family insider told The ENQUIRER.

Morgan Freeman has been having a nearly decade-long affair with his step-granddaughter - a scandalous charge that has emerged in the bitter divorce battle between the acclaimed actor and his wife Myrna, says a source.

The relationship between the 72-year-old actor with step-granddaughter E'Dena Hines, 27, began when she was a teen, the source told The ENQUIRER exclusively. The alleged affair not only contributed to his split from Myrna, his wife of 25 years, it also led to his breakup with his longtime mistress, former schoolteacher Mary Joyce Hays.

E'Dena is the granddaughter of Morgan's first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, and was raised by Morgan and Myrna "since she was a little girl," the source told The ENQUIRER.

"Myrna said E'dena told her that when she was a teenager, she and Morgan went to dinner at a friend's house one evening. Both had been drinking, and when they returned home, Morgan attempted to have sex with her. They stopped just short of having intercourse," the source, a close family insider, told The ENQUIRER.

"E'Dena explained to Myrna that she stopped Morgan from going any further."

Myrna confronted Morgan, and he agreed to leave E'Dena alone - but unbeknownst to Myrna, the relationship continued for years, said the source.

E'Dena has also been Morgan's escort to several public events, including last summer's premiere of the blockbuster Bat-flick hit, The Dark Knight.

"Nobody thought anything of it, because she would be introduced as his 'granddaughter.' The family insider divulged.

"It's not technically incest, because they are not related by blood...[but] Morgan is trying desperately to keep his divorce out of open court so all the shameful facts won't become public."

For the FULL STORY with all the details you won't find anywhere else get the new ENQUIRER on sale now!

Huh, how about that. His former wife and my mom share the same name.

Um, if I'm not mistaken I think Nick has said for a while that Freeman was a dick to CHUD. Not that its on the same level but that is something bad about him we've heard for a while.

It's gotta be bullshit. This is Morgan Freeman we're talking about. Surely he can score underaged trim that doesn't look like David Alan Grier.

I'd like to file this under too weird and random not to be true. Doesn't sound that much more salacious than the Woody Allen / Soon-Yi Previn situation, and would probably only be really, really weird if you dropped the step in step-granddaughter. Of course, the general public doesn't care, and if there's any validity to this, Freeman is up for a very rough time PR wise.

Really? How'd I miss that?

Woody's thing was pretty salacious. Personally the "step" part invalidates any incest weirdness, but the 45 year age gap is a little much for me, particularly if they started getting into one another when she was a teen.

Freeman's been a dick to more people than just Nick Nunziata. I've heard plenty of stories about his asshole nature. Did you know he hates The Shawshank Redemption and Frank Darabont?

Blood or no blood, she was a minor and this was supposed to be her grandfather. BARF!

Wait ... what? That sounds like a story I want told more than any of this sleeping-with-his-step-granddaughter nonsense.

Maybe she was on his Fuck-It List.

...I'm so ashamed by that.

Ditto.

I should be shocked and appalled like so many others surely are but when I read the story, I couldn't bring myself to care one bit. I'm a terrible human.

So, when Freeman first met his step granddaughter, do you think the first thing that went through his mind was "I hope . . . ?"

Shall we count down how long it takes for gossip rags to incorporate a Million Dollar Baby pun regarding alimony?

Sad news, but I bet it doesn't hurt his career one iota. He's 72 and probably near-retirement. He survived Dreamcatcher, he can survive this.

Luckily, you had no interest in Dreamcatcher. It was mentioned in Nick's 'on location' interviews. I don't think it was specifically CHUD, but rather all internet reporters for which Freeman showed disdain.

Makes Casey Affleck's decision in GONE BABY GONE a lot less torturesome.

"I hope that's as tapable as it is in my dreams..."

So he's married, has a mistress, and has a 27 year old girlfriend (step grand-daughter) at the age of 72. I wouldn't have guessed that Morgan was a massive poonhound.

He's living the dream...

And to be fair, he is the only guilty man in Shawshank.

Threadwinner.

Freeman maybe doesn't hate Shawshank, but for years, his go to answer in interviews about it's enduring cultural love was based around his dissatisfaction with the working environment on the set, particularly Darabont's unprofessional behavior. Apparently, he threw tantrums and their onset relationship was strained at best, uncommunicative at worst. When one interviewer said it all worked out because the film is beloved by everyone, Freeman basically said I don't care, it was a miserable experience for me, and I'm done talking about it. It's a shame, because I think it's clearly his best work, and I would have loved to see his oscar speech for winning that year. I think he's eased up on it a bit in recent years, simply because everyone still loves the film, but 'twas a rough time on the set, I guess.

Also, Freeman used to be in the habit of getting stoned while working, in a fairly serious way. That was more in his theater days though.

Oh, Gossip threads. One "source" in the National Enquirer and suddenly anything can be used to judge people!

For all the crap that they eat as a tabloid that shouldn't be believed, the Enquirer has a pretty amazing track record since they moved away from the obviously made up headlines of our youth. When was the last time they were successfully sued? For this story (which obviously ended up being correct anyhow) does anybody actually think they ran to print with only one source? Looks to me like they probably got an illegal look at the divorce documents or at least were able to speak with somebody who had, and then ran with the story knowing that Freeman couldn't sue them without the possibility that the divorce documents would then be a part of the lawsuit. Obviously they aren't going to say that they saw the documents but it sure looks like that's what they're leaning on.

This is one of those stories that is so outrageous that I lean toward believing it. I mean, who would make that shit up...about Morgan fucking Freeman no less?
