It is, but removed from the punch, it still wouldn't be any sort of revelatory or damaging moment for Perez. He has no reputation to damage. Consider: someone credible or reputable would have gotten more attention/mileage than he did for calling out Prejean at the pageant; I think the gay community knows he's a fucking nightmare of a spokesman for them.

There were lots of other options for those involved; I just think it's a bit naive/disingenuous to act at all outraged or surprised at the options exercised.

The ONLY reason I brought up my personal history was to give a little background as to why I personally abhore violence. Nothing more, nothing less.
I just reiterated what you said because I wanted you to know I understood your point.

You're right though, the obvious and rational decision is to walk away and avoid a physical conflict completely. The fact that Hilton even got punched is somewhat of a moot point to me, it's just the production that goes on afterwards is what makes everyone want to say they're glad he got punched.

Absolutely. I guess what I'm really taking issue with is the idea that, short of walking in on a person raping your dog, hitting someone is NEVER EVER OK. All I'm saying is, once in awhile, the situation does call for it.

EDIT: Never mind I read something wrong.

ETA: Haha, because of the caps in your post, my eyes were drawn to that part of the sentence prematurely and I completely missed like ten words. It went like this in my head and I thought it was the most contradictory thing I had ever read...

I'm dense. These two statements contradict each other, don't they?

There is no outrage or surprise coming from me as to the option exercised. I'm more than well aware how physical violence is always an option (and usually the easiest choice). Further my beef isn't with you. Do I need to list the people in here who seem to think that this was the best option (and one of only 2 options)?

Yes....when you cut off the first half of the sentence.

Lol no, he's taking issue with the stance that NEVER hitting someone is the way to go. It tricked me too.

Haha. Sorry I guess I could have worded it a bit more clearly.

Violence should never be the best option. All I am saying is that given the circumstances I can understand why it happend.
So, you're not saying he should have killed her?
Did I say that? I'm confused if I did.
I'm not saying he should have killed her...but I understand.

Violence is a really handy shortcut sometimes. I've been in two fistfights my whole life, both started by me, both ensuring that as huge a nerd as I am I wasn't bullied in the least during all of high school. So for me to say violence is never the answer would be hypocritical. As long as no permanent damage is done, though.

Ha, I'm still laughing at the fact Perez was all like "Oh I'm gonna donate all the proceeds from the lawsuit to this charity against gay violence, to show everyone I'm not an asshole!" and then the charity refuses and basically says since the lawsuit was based on him prompting an attack by using anti-gay language that they don't want it. She goes on to point out that using epithets can often result in physical violence, as if pointing at him and going "duh".

I'm tired of hearing about all this stuff and especially Perez's whining, but it is pretty fun to see him fail epically at trying to play the victim.

Thread Starter
And He did not learn anything, apparently:

From Wikipedia:

Michael Jackson's Death Controversy
On June 25th 2009, shortly after Michael Jackson had gone into cardiac arrest, Hilton posted an article about the star's illness, claiming it was a publicity stunt. Hilton's original post featured sarcastic comments such as "Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!" and "Jacko pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in ‘95 when he “collapsed” at rehearsal!", in response to Jackson's recently sold out tour through March of 2010. Upon realizing Michael Jackson's death was not a hoax, Hilton immediately deleted the original news post and replaced it with a shorter message that linked to a story at entertainment news site TMZ, which said the singer had in fact gone into cardiac arrest.[72] Hilton has received backlash for the incident, becoming entangled in a Twitter argument with Pete Wentz about the situation.
No fan of the hysteria over Jacko, but to post "It's A Hoax" based on nothing but your imagination is pretty asshole behavior..and very stupid as well.

I guess we're supposed to give a shit about Perez Hilton signing a French recording artist to his new music label. But it's more interesting to me that Perez seems to be surrounding himself with people who, like him, have Land of the Lost Pakuni grills.

That guy looks like a Gene Shalit/Adam Yauch mutant hybrid.
