The Golden Child-Eddie Murphy

I think this is one of Eddie's better films. Though an overlooked one.

Has elements of Big Trouble In Little China in this. In fact I've heard that John Carpenter was supposed to direct this but dropped out for some reason.

Yeah, this one came out and made a ton of dough, and Big Trouble In Little China flopped. Damn sad.

I still dig this flick though. "MY BROTHER HAS FORGIVEN ME!"

(Sigh) Where did that Eddie go to? I miss him.

It's a damn shame that he's no longer bankable in this respect, and that all he can do is kiddie flicks.

This probably could have worked as a Big Trouble sequel actually. Instead of Eddie Murphy, Kurt Russell is pulled into helping find some kid.

"Quincy kiss my ass"

"This is like a big joint, you can light it and smoke it."

"You just gonna leave that booger right there aintcha."

"My dear brother Noompsie!"

"Hey man, in my pocket there's a whole pack of tic-tacs, you take as many as you like."

This film gets pretty overlooked when the funny age of Eddie gets discussed, but I grew up loving it I have to say. So quotable.

Even today, I always think of Charles Dance as Sardo Numpsi.

Eddie has a great improv sequence in that Airport scene.

"You Sir are a Great Leader. Because you have the...keen, the cunning...the instinct."

100% true.  I can't remember the exact reason he passed on this, but he did go on to do BTILC instead.

This is definitely an underrated flick.  In fact, I think I'll toss it up to the top of my Netflix queue....

EDIT - BOO, it isn't available!

RE-EDIT - Thank you, Netflix Instant!
