None of them feature people in formalwear wielding flamethrowers, so they're all inferior to the original poster art.

This is true. Tagline's not as much fun, either.

I think the best one of the lot is the first, too. But I have a feeling the third will win in the end.

I'm hoping they end up with the cover from the VHS release (it was flawless). I guess #1 is the best of the lot.
Huh. I was expecting a bit better frankly. Monster Squad ended up with fairly interesting DVD art, but here it seems like someone wasn't trying particularly hard.

Of those three options, I have to go with the first one. It at least successfully conveys the film's tone.

They all suck.

Just give us the original poster art for the love of Christ.

To be honest I'm not crazy about any of them. They're just not particularly cool or aesthetically appealing designs, and the third one is a total WTF. It's particularly disappointing in light of the awesome original poster/VHS art and tagline. These are all pretty cheap looking and ugly and this movie deserves better. The first one is definitely the best of the three though.

If they spend money on getting it on DVD, you'd figure they'd pump another $20 into a better post-grad designer.

I don't like any of them either. Bring on the original one sheet or the vhs cover.

I have to agree with everyone. I just enjoy the original poster/VHS art (and one of the best tag lines). There is nothing wrong with the first two but why new art in the first place? We're buying a decades old movie that has been unavailable on dvd until now. Why not just exploit/reward the nostalgia and retain the original art? I suppose I don't understand marketing but I understand it enough to say "shame on you, third art!"

Jesus, they're all terrible.

Considering the lousy dtv design schemes they were aiming for, why didn't they just go for broke and paste "Starring David Paymer(DRAG ME TO HELL)" across the corner, since he's the most marketable name in there. Revel in your West Coast Video new release shelf glory, you bastards. Revel!

Yeah, they're all horse shit.
Of the 3, I like the first one. But yeah, it's disappointing that it's not similar to the original poster, and is missing the original tagline.
Thankfully the cover of least suck is winning handsomely.

Small victory at best.
Wowsers! Those are some ugly covers. They don't even look real.
The third one makes the least amount of sense. The aliens have what, 8 seconds of screen time? #2 sucks, but #3 is just a stain.
Hmmm,

the first is like a regular shit stinking turd.

the third is like a dog turd, yellow-ish in colour, truly foul smelling, sticky like peanut butter; and you are having to use a twig to scrape it out of the treads of your new trainers whilst gagging

the second is like a puddle of loose, splattery, alky tramp's shit, reeking abit like sick. It has things moving in and bits of blood and the awfulness of it's odour has made you cry. You have trodden in it as well... the tramp is laughing at you; you are barefoot.

And you have an open cut on your foot.

For fuck's sake, how could they fuck this up? Why is there no 'Null Vote' option?

They all suck. Is there a choice for 'none of the above'?
