Initially this game wasn't even on my radar but every review I've read of it says it's an amazing fighting game. Anyone here play it or plan on getting it?

I loved the fuck out of Guilty Gear X2. So I'll definitely give this a try.

I don't like fighters at all, mainly because i'm inept when it comes to playing them, but HOLY SHIT this game looks amazing in action.

Will get it by the end of the month, when the normal edtion (without the ost andlimited box/dvd) comes out, cause money's a bit tight right now....I damn as hell want it, though.

The limited edition sells for the same price--59.99. Pretty sweet, actually. This game does look amazing, I'm thinking about picking it up; the fighting seems right up my alley (fast, crazy, fun).

MrMushnik, What a year for fans of...Fighting games, Street Fighter IV, Blaz Blue, the upcoming KOF XII, TMNT Smash Up (Wii, PS2), Tekken 6 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Wii). I think Blaz Blue is terrific. It is a fast moving game, with moves that dazzle the senses.

It's basically a gorgeous next-gen GG without any recognizable characters and a somewhat-new control mechanic. Not bad, but I don't know that it's $60 good. Then again, I'm still playing my Xbox copy of GGX2.

So I guess it gets your recommendation? How is the single player experience? Are there a lot of people playing online?

MrMushnik, I do not play...online games, so I do not know. Blaz Blue is a terrific...Fighting game, represented in...Glorious 2D!

It's taking some time to get into because I was expecting this to essentially be a re-skinned Guilty Gear, which it isn't at all. It's going to feel a little familiar if you're a fan of GG, but it's slower, the combo system a little more deliberate in how you link together moves than the more free-form GG games. It's good, but it's going to be a while before I really feel as comfortable with it as I did with GGXX, which my friends and I spent an unbelievable amount of time with.

That said, the characters feel so far removed from almost any other fighter I've played. The commands are all the familiar fireball/dragon punch stuff (I don't think there's a single charge command in the game, though) but the moves that result don't produce the familiar fireballs, etc. for the most part. It's both refreshing and frustrating, though more than anything it's weird having to learn completely new movesets since these guys don't move like most other fighters anywhere else.

The online is huge right now, it's not difficult to find a match at all. Seriously this is one great game. I suck at it, but I'm getting better. It really isn't that hard Vs. the CPU but my brain has been so hard-wired to SF4 that it is taking a lot of time to reprogram.

Essentially, if you can shoot a fireball in Street Fighter, you already have most of the skill needed to pull off specials in BB.

The characters are pretty diverse, a lot are geared towards close combat but there is a lot of counter-attackers and defensive minded ones as well. Of course, there is your cheap obligatory big man along the lines of Zangief but far easier to control.

For people that have a hard time with fighters, some of the special moves and distortions are mapped out to the right analog stick. A simple flick of the stick and *boom*, you are scorching your opponent with a special.

Graphics wise, this might be the single most beautiful 2d game, the sprites are so vibrant and lively. The backgrounds are no slouches with some nice animations but nothing that is distracting to the fighting, it's all subtle.

Controls are great and intuitive, even with the shitty xbox pad. Very few problems at all. Unlike SF4, you do have to do the actual controller motions but everything is easy to pull off regardless.

The music is great, none of the scores get annoying and everything seems to fit the mood of the game quite well.

Story-wise, pretty bizarre but for the most part, forgettable. Interesting to see the character relations but other than that, it is pretty throw-away. Most of the cut scenes are done with static animated cells. The voices are top notch though imo.

Highly, HIGHLY recommended. There is a learning curve, but there is an ample practice mode. I recommend reading the instruction manual for what the face buttons represent or else you are going to be scratching your head come game time.

If anyone is interested in playing online, drop a friend invite. I play tons of stuff, mostly right now fighters and L4D and soon Worms 2 but I'm open to just about anything as long as I have the game.

I don't know if I like it more than SF4, but it certainly can hold its own and is one of my favorite games of the year so far.

Sweet mother of all that's unholy, Gametrailers just gave it a 9.0

I really, really need to cut some corners this month so I can get this ASAP...the animation and the combat system just blew me away.

Players online are BRUTAL. I need to practice more in arcade mode.

Still not in any rush to buy any new games in the near future, and my love for Guilty Gear has waned in recent years, but that 90% Metacritic rating is really hard to ignore.

I wanted Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

Then I put a token into a BlazBlue machine yesterday and that all changed.

It's the best fighter I've played since MK II.
