So glad she's helping make decisions ON URANIUM MINING!

Here's the web page for the Arizona State Senate. I'm giving them a ring/email right now.

What's humorous is that statement is essentially the same as saying "The world is flat". It's a position that has been completely and irrefutably proven incorrect by countless observable, historical, and provable scientific tests.

The sad part is that as a society we're supposed to consider this an "opinion" instead of an outright "falsehood", simply because there's a number of other misguided humans who believe the exact same thing.

I think Palin just found her running mate.

Yet another candiate for the single bullet solution.

The problem with URANIUM MINING is that uranium is so toxic that the radiation is not even the strew that broke the camels back, it just very, very, slight over kill. Uranium is probably one of the most toxic substances known to man. You can use it as a chemical warfare agent. I have read so many studies over the last ten years or so about how many of the radioactive substances are so chemical toxic, that it not the radiation that make them dangerous, but just their chemical natures. It seem more and more that animal and humans can take a lot of radiation and be okay, it the chemical contamination you have to watch out for. Uranium and these other heavy metals are so brittle that they quickly become very find powders, that get every were. It almost impossible not to have contamination problem with them.

This isn't humourous, it's sad and frightening. Sad, because grownups believing in fairy stories makes me sad. Frightening, because someone entirely lacking in critical thinking skills is in a position of some power.

Okay, it doesn't really frighten me because she has no power over me, but still. She'd believe 2+2=5 if you publish it in a nice leatherbound volume and proclaim it to be true in Latin, so I have no problem believing she wouldn't know the difference between actual scientific research and an essay by a (ha ha) 'Fellow' of some Libertarian thinktank full of liars.

Why do people elect such ignoramuses?

I take solace in the fact that, at this rate, we will NEVER make it off this planet in any meaningful way. Therefore it will be virtually impossible for humans like this fucktard to polute the intergalactic community with her thoughts given vocal form.

I've lived in Arizona for upwards of 18 years, and I still can't give you a satisfactory answer to that question. I think it's the heat. Phoenix is about ten degrees hotter than Tucson at any given time, and that must make all the difference as Phoenix is where all the crazies in the State Legislature come from (including Ms. Allen, apparently.)
