There are way too many Creationists on Facebook... - Page 6

I love this attitude (From one of Werewolf Girl´s priceless expcerpts) :
Quote:
I dont force what I believe on anyone, nor does my God. ........When Gods wrath, in fire, comes down in earth, perhaps you will evolve with wings to escape that fire.....
Yeah, my god is a peaceful hippie. No harm meant. I do not enforce my belief upon you like these filthy socialist muslims do.
But at the end of the day my God will strike down from heaven, commit mass genocide on his children and punish everyone who did not play his silly game to burn for eternity in hell. Take that sucka!

I nearly prefer terrorists over this mindstate. At least terrorists state their goal plain.

And the Creationists are back!

Darwin and all the other evolution believers need to see the real truth! Read the BIBLE!!!!!

Quote:
Evolution itself is a religion based on faith. It says that the material world is all there is. It says that there is no God. It says that something was created out of nothing with no outside influence.

The Bible, on the other hand, says that there is a spiritual realm. It says that there is a God that existed before the world began, and that He created the material world with a specific plan. And that He created us out of love and that He gave us the free will to either love Him back or turn our backs on Him. And our turning our backs on Him is what has caused all the pain in the world, not God Himself.

At first glance, both positions seem like huge leaps of faith. But at least the Bible is giving me answers that make sense and that never change. The theory of evolution is constantly changing and doesn't give any solid answers to the questions: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going?

I'll be honest. I don't have enough faith to believe in evolution!
Quote:
I find other literature much more interesting than trying to understand evolution. I just accept the fact that God created the earth and everything in it, and that we are free to accept or reject that fact. My book, the Bible, says that many will not believe in a God. I find that troubling when there is so much beauty to see in nature.

Why don't eskimos grow long hair to keep them warm?

And, if man evolved from other creatures, what is next for man? a tail? three eyes, wings? I wonder?
Quote:
In the begining Adam and Eve had more children than cain and able and they did mary each other as to populate the earth but as the population grew, that stoped. even Abraham was married to his half sister, and the Bible does not conterdict its self, when you repent of your sins and study the Bible and ask GOD to open your eyes to his word you can understand what it says.

Chris:
It won't! But it only says in the Bible of ONE earth, of him creating ONE man, ONE woman, and they 'mulitplied'. KWIM, we didn't come from apes, or whatever you call them! LOL
Quote:
Before the Flood, the Earth had a layer of water in the atmosphere, creating an ice shield around the Earth. This caused the oxygen pressure to be 30-50% higher than it is now. This has been proven by an oxygen bubble found in amber. It was put in a vaccum and cracked open, revealing the higher oxygen level. This higer concentration of oxygen made everything grow much bigger!

ugh, I meant to say 'creationism'. Do people acctually think the world started with a 'bang'? If so, there would be about a million other earths.. what a laugh. Only our God can make such beatiful and complex creatures as we are! PRAISE GOD!

God Almighty was gracious enough to spare some of each species from His Wrathful judgment on the earth - from His highest creation – Man, to the lowest – the Gnat.
And He still is today – He will Forgive ANY repentant sinner that asks Him to.
Quote:
So many species that were in Noah's ark all died off shortly after leaving the ark due to Ultra violet rays and lack of air density to survive in the new world. Also the climatic changes that then took place - since prior to the flood, the earth was a more constant temp from top to bottom. Noah obviously took the younger juvenile males and females on the ark since they were so large as adults. Lower air density meant breathing problems for some, and flight for other next to impossible. Those who could travel and adapt survived he transition from the Old world to the New World.

Dale, if only you'd go to the Creation Museum, you'd learn that Man used dinosaurs to haul stuff, or for riding as well, so maybe they were feeding their pet dinos with primates, this explains the fossils together in the same layer...
Quote:
Matt, you have no idea how silly I am. But that does not prove evolution either.
Quote:
You don't require proof. The BIG Bang has no proof, but the scientific community swallows it whole. We evolved from apes? Where is the proof? Hogwash.
Quote:
Look at your family tree, Jarrod.

Do you see any monkeys?
Quote:
God created man in his image.. read the book. Evolution is the false theory created by man.
Quote:
I sure dont have a monkey for my ancestors. I was created by the Word of God!!
Quote:
Did T-Rex get a spot on the Ark?

Probably as an egg or as a baby....

And on the Ark where 2 of every unclean animal and 7 of every clean animal ( ie those that you can eat)

I'm less angry than overtaken with hysterical fits of laughter.

Sometimes the stupid people piss me off but I keep going back because there is good discussion with intelligent people and also it's really really funny.

I would be a lot more filled with violent rage if I actually lived around loud obnoxious Creationists, I think.

Just south of me.

My favorite part: "The Petting Zoo is included in the price of admission. There you can feed a zonkey (zebra/donkey), a zorse (zebra/horse), a camel, wallabies, and other intriguing animals." (Emphasis mine)

That they have mixed animals at a creation museum is cognitive dissonance at an entirely new level.

Now I've got visions of Christian "scientists" trying to breed one and citing the inability to do so as evidence for creation. Thanks.

No, the duck would be the one fucking the crocodile in the missionary position, because that's the only position that God approves of.

I love and hate the fact that they can't seem to grasp the fact that it has to be a biological being in order for evolution to take place as opposed to a pen, or a balloon with beads.. or Peanut Butter.

They are retarding humanity.

Just wanted to add that Ann Coulter's main argument, from her book "Godless", against evolution is that iPods don't evolve, therefore neither do monkeys.

I'm not adding fuel to the fire, it's just that one of the scariest thoughts in my life is that there are people out there supporting her body of work.

It scares and confuses me.
How can she say the ipod hasn't evolved? We're at the iphone at this point.
I'd call that some form of evolution.

Really? I mean, really? This cannot possibly an argument for anything. Not even for the Zune.
The woman is also an adamant supporter of racial profiling.
You gotta love the coherence of these arguments. If you are a creationist then racial profiling should be irrelevant since God created us all equal. Or so they say. But racial profiling would make sense for creationists, as far as they´d believe that those black people are monkeys, hence not as evolved as us superior white people.
But then again, why the fuck am I trying to make sense out of Coulter? I reckon it would be easier to just prove the existence of god. Or the lack thereof.
Ann Coulter doesn't actually believe half the shit she says. Don't try too hard to figure it out.

Conservatives tend to not need actual proof or facts to believe something.

Oh, I'm not saying that her fans don't believe it. Just that she doesn't. She's a consummate attention whore, and she desperately watches for any sign that her name isn't being uttered in the media, then concocts the most insane, ridiculous, fucked-up thing she can come up with to get her name on public lips again. It's completely cynical and manipulative, and she doesn't believe a word of it. See also Bill O'Reilly.

I'm willing to believe this, but why do you think it's true?
I'm willing to take it further. Just as anyone can start to believe their own hype, someone pushing such insanity as Coulter (who managed to be rewarded for it) could really start to buy into their own BS once they fester in all that attention and financial rewards. The mind is awfully insidious like that.

It doesn't sound like you have actually read any of the quotes I posted.

Unless anything I've said here is somehow comparable to thinking evolution means that if you put beads in a balloon and pop it the beads will fall out and become people and animals and houses.

I am saying one should not be so condemning of one fellow human for their freakish idiocies, when one has their own share of freakish idiocies. The first step on the road to wisdom is understand that your are no better then any one else. The fundamentalist first mistake is in thinking that they are better then others, because they 'obey' some perceived holy law of God. This also why they receive such hate from some quarters. By ridiculing their stupid creationist views, to the extent that you are, you are basically making the same mistake that, they get hated for.

Their views on the world are based on a emotional response. By having a emotional response to their emotional response, all you are doing to reinforcing their emotional response. Ridicule is a emotional response and it not very intelligent, even if it is clever in nature. What is productive in what you are doing? Also you are in a way lowering yourself to their level. You are not taking the high road. Let me ask you this how does one change the world?

I am not trying to make fun of you Werewolf Girl. I just throwing you some very small pearls. You are still young. Take some lessons from Davidb. Everyone like Davidb why is that?

I dunno, Devin's article says that many of the films reviews have been pretty derogatory, and it's possible that that's the reason for no American distribution yet.

I mean, controversial movies do play in the States sometimes. Even the most ardent religious wingnut would have to admit that Darwin, you know, existed, and a biographical film about a "controversial" figure is hardly unprecedented.
Even if the controversy isn't the real reason, we do live in a country where it's all too easy for everyone to believe that it's the reason. And it's a deserved reputation. We've gone completely insane as a culture.
