Aye, which is why there are laws against promoting certain... ideologies in public.
I suppose one could claim its an infringement on freedom of speech in a way, but either way certain countries here (germany, austria and I think switzerland, though others might have it too) are very clear about it. Mind you, pretty much anyone in an age where they are able to talk coherently in public knows about this, so it wouldnt have happened in the first place. Which obviously doesnt mean ideas like that dont EXIST. Its just a "behind closed doors" thing.
To be clear, there is no actual law saying you cannot talk about it in private or hold those beliefs. Its about broadcasting them, holding a public speech or publishing material about these ideologies (pretty much anything remotely related to the Nazi ideology and its bastard children like eugenics etc. that are woven into it) that you can (and often will) get charged for.
However, Austria doesnt in fact enforce this law lately. Its there, in theory, but the current climate doesnt make it very feasible to follow through on it, since you d likely have put two entire parties, one of them very popular, on trial pretty much immediately. Germany is more harsh in that regard, and no matter what happens, any career a guy like that had is down the drain immediately. You have to realize there is quite a powerful lobby making sure of that here. People have been kicked out of their parties for less.
