PC confirmed, and probably 360 (since it's a Microsoft owned license, own the late FASA game studios, hence Crimson SKys and Shadow Run etc)

Giant Fucking Robots, standing tall.

MechWarrior 2 was gourad shaded bliss; here's hoping for a throwback vector based targeting system.

That ejection was pretty sweet.

Yeah. Any resemblance of Mechwarrior 2 is great by me. Mech Assault was shit compared to hit.

Those visuals look promising indeed. I remember the Mechwarrior games being very entertaining, so I'll definitely keep this on the radar.

Nice!

It's about bloody goddamn time!

Looks amazing, but that was pretty obviously scripted. Still, hope those are in-game assets.

This is wonderful news. After the massive disappointment and general piece-of-shit title that was MechAssault, I'm relieved to see comparisons to MechWarrior 2, which for me was the series' high watermark (and one of my favorite games ever).

I like the new gameplay additions such as launching a drone and ducking behind buildings. Now, if only they'll keep the same computerized voice. The phrase "enemy detected" was always guaranteed to send a small burst of adrenaline through my spine, similarly to the hiss of a headcrab or the "wort-wort-wort" of a Covenant.

It looks like Battletech is going to be releasing Mechwarrior 4 and all its expansions to download for FREE. Coming soon.

I find this thread's lack of rejoicing disturbing. The good Mechwarrior games weren't that long ago were they?

SO agreed. I had three different friends email me about this new game, and we were all ecstatic. Is it just older PC gamers that remember how great this series was?

This game was the sole reason I purchased a joystick for my first PC. I look forward to the new arrival.

I think there's a justifiable fear that, with all the talk of 'not your dad's Mechwarrior' and the RPG features, this isn't going to be the giant robot sim that we know and love. Thus the tempered excitement.

I still have my joystick, kicked so much ass with that controller...

I couldn't afford a PC on a Private's salary when Mechwarrior 2 was out, but I'm pretty familiar with the tabletop game, I love me some rock 'em, sock 'em robot action, and this has me psyched.

There are Hi-Def versions of this trailer, in a variety of player formats, at www.gametrailers.com. I had to create an account to download, but sign-up was free.

I think you answered your own question.

This aint gonna be no Steel Battalion (which I had the pleasure/frustration of playing).

Wow, i actually forgot all about this game. Used to play it all the time at a friends house. Neither of us had any idea how to play it. Mostly just consisted of hitting the space bar alot whenever we saw an enemy. I don't think we ever made it past the first level...

Has anyone seen this?

It's a free mod for Crysis. Website here.

Is this the series that had that control/cockpit contraption that cost like 500 bucks?

Game looks good, but I'm booked through the first quarter of 2010.
Nah, that was Steel Battalion. Unless someone else made one too.
