The only thing surprising in that link is that Malia Obama is freaking TALL for an 11-year-old.

que they all laugh.

this is just sickening
Some might hate Bush but his wife and he had class this family is straight from the streets of chicago

I appreciate Devin noting that although some idiots post insulting comments about the first family, that fact does not indicate that Conservatives are racists. Ofcourse, that point should be obvious.

In the spirit of pointing out the obvious, I'd also like to remind everyone that hate crimes aren't always commited by whites.

"Please tell me that this is not a real photo from there and that this is not what we have sent to Europe.

What we now are sending the ghetto over to represent us. and if so who the hell is that flea bag who looks to be dragged from the trash dumpster."

The replies are fairly disgusting, but a third of them are from the same racist douchebag. There's no doubt many white Americans will never reconcile a black American president.

On another topic isn't nuclear arms reduction merely smoke and mirrors? They have enough nuclear weapons to detroy Earth a thousand times over, and it's impossible to account for all of them. We know neither the US nor Russia would ever give all their nukes up. Just seems like typical PR to me.

If he really wants to be anti war don't increase the military budget. Don't create an illegal military prison larger and worse than Gitmo, Bhagram. Stop the indescriminate killing of civillians in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Actually stick to your word and completely pull out of Iraq. Stop Israel from their never ending crusade to take as much land as possible through the use of force.

And finally end the BCS so we can have a college football playoff....you know its time!

I'm not saying they're lying but this certainly seems like an embellishment of the truth.

And didn't she also mention her kids as the ones who voted "Yes" to her decision to resign? Yeah, they're well off-stage.

As soon as I saw "Free Republic" in the link I should have known what to expect.

There are two levels of retardation at work here:

1) The douchebags referenced on the Freerepublic forum spewing their bullshit.

2) The douchebag who thinks the words of a dozen or two people represent a significantly large group (Im not sure how many conservatives there are, but Im sure the number is somewhere north of 50) as a whole.

Well, as a popular nationwide mainstream American morning-show news commentator said, us white folk are marrying outside of our "species" and muddying our pure heritage. And of course there's the bone-in-the-nose picture of Obama circulating in conservative circles. And that recent pic of all the white presidents with Obama depicted as just a black face with bug-eyes sent out by a GOP staffer. And the watermelons-on-the-White-House-lawn pic. And the Obama-as-monkey tee-shirts. And the GOP mailing that depicts Obama on a food stamp with fried chicken and watermelon. Or the Obama as Aunt Jemima on waffle mix. Etc., etc., etc..

But yeah, it's just these Freeper assholes. Of course.

I get it. So its not just the Freeper assholes, its the entirety of the 45% of the voting population that didnt vote for Obama, right?

Are you sure the truth may not lie somewhere inbetween? It may just be my opinion, but blanket generalizations of any variety prove nothing except a low IQ

Now that I think about it, those black conservatives must really be torn these days with Obama in the White House and all.

Conservatives have spent two decades and millions of dollars and countless hours of airtime to turn the word "liberal" into an epithet and an accusation. If liberals decide now to use a broad brush to paint conservatives in an unflattering light using their own words and deeds I'm not gonna lose any sleep about how "fair" we're playing.
Can we stop this "my party kicks your parties ass" football fan behaviour?

It doesnt matter whether 5% or 50% of the Republican Party are racists. There are quite obviously plenty enough of them to drag down the image of the party, make racism a daily topic and consideration, and have it spill over into a LOT of daily public discourse and news, so frankly there are too many.

These are not tiny isolated incidents, even conservatives should be able to realize that. It may not be a huge majority, but its more than just a few nutjobs, and it doesnt seem to cease.
I ve never seen any political party be such a poor loser anyway.

I see what you mean, but to me that goes back to the whole "two wrongs" anecdote. Its not really a question of fair.

Modern liberals are far and away more mature and intelligent than modern "conservatives." Much like the use of torture, theres no need to sink down to their level.

No, they're not. The FreeRepublic forums are of a shitty design, where the username of the originator of the thread is normally quoted at the very top of each post, and the actual poster's username is at the bottom of each post.

Plus, you can bet your ass if a handful of liberal loonies posted something just as outrageous, the conservatives wouldn't be in any hurry to point out it's a small minority doing so.

Exactly. If I remember correctly, O'Reilly has made a mountain out of a molehill hundreds of times over with DailyKos commenters.

Considering that O'Reilly cherry-picks one or two malicious comments out of thousands compared to a link like this where at least half of the shit is racist invective (that's not even bringing in the fact that these sorts of discussions aren't scarce at all on neoconservative forums), "being better than that" doesn't seem to be all that hard to accomplish.

I see a lot of bigotry on display but very little in the way of inherent genetic superiority. I smell bait thread.

Small minded people are always looking for others they can feel "better than" or blame their problems on. That's an unfortunate aspect of human nature. What's disturbing is that the racial heritage of this President has somehow made it OK for the leaders on the right to stoke open racial hatred and suspicion for its own aims. But racism is one of the deep demons of this country, moreso among the conservatives of the south, and isn't going away anytime soon.

I was stunned by the numerous examples of blatant racism in the wake of Obama's being elected. I'm even more stunned by the sad excuses given by the racist types when they make the news. The Curious George t-shirt guy? He's not saying Obama's a chimp, it's just a caricature! The presidential photo of big wide eyes in a black background? The sender was sorry she sent it to the wrong people and thus got caught, but not terribly apologetic about her bigotry. And if I remember correctly she's supposed to some sort of political bigwig, too. A supposedly educated and presumably worldly woman.

Or so you'd think.

It's insane. Most of the excuses seem to be of the "well, you liberals made fun of Dubya, what's wrong with what we're doing?" variety.

By the way, here is a nice summary of that thread with several more choice quotes. I guess it was back up and then pulled again.

Yeah, and history repeats itself .....

No really, this just shows what was there anyway, but hidden under a veneer of false progression in these matters.

There are a lot more racists, by varying degrees and often just against one or two particular heritages, than you may have thought. Its not just the USA, even in evil socialist europe, we have a solid turnout for right-wing parties with a racistic slant in some countries.

It just kinda got lost in the dream of people getting more "global".

Take away the 'small minded' piece of this assertion and I agree with it. It isn't only small minded folks that practice the Gentle Art of Superiority, it's all of us.

For proof, look no further than this thread, which has no real purpose except allowing folks to feel 'better than' the racists in Freeper threads, and/or to blame problems on them.

None of which is to say that racism is okay/acceptable/justifiable in any way, or to make some false equivalency. Simply pointing out that this is universal behavior.

The sign also said "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids."

The big money trying to block health care reform seems to be using PR firms to stoke racial hatred. Pretty sickening display of corporate power and provincial hate and ignorance.

LOL. The sad thing is, you're probably not wrong, Hbarr, but not for that post. I tried to write a note on a fake grassroots site commissioned by the insurance industry and wonky internet-y things ensued.

I love how the right-wing is genuinely freaked out about Obama's secret list of dissenters, even though the idea that this president would have such a thing is ridiculous. I mean, let's not even mention Dick Cheney and his paranoid delusions.
