I'm way behind the curve on these but i spotted them today on the Superman thread.

I have to say having looked at a few in other threads there are some classics out there. So far the ones on the Irish blasphmy thread are my favorates.

atheist, beating head against wall, begorrah, blasphemy, fuck, more whiskey, slippery slope, wailing

Anyone else found some choice ones?

There are some good ones in the Ascared of Chick Flicks thread:

I love the tags, for several reasons, as I said in the Recent Changes... thread. Only complaint is that they would be funnier, though less useful, if in chronological order rather than alphabetical.
You have to love that a good percentage of the tags involve bodily harm to the fleed.
This thread's second tag is, perhaps, one of the most bizarre phrases I've ever heard.
I just now noticed I have one of my very own. I'm flattered beyond words. Who wrote that?
There seem to be a lot of tags referencing Jake being an angry cat and Domingo being less than bright, as well.
soapy-tit-wank?
I'm pretty sure that 90% of the tags are the work of Bob Clark, Jake, and Wade/Gruber

Whoever is doing them they made my afternoon at work a lot more enjoyable.

Who on this thread mentioned Vagisil?

And you are one sad/strange message board poster.

I'll admit to the MASTER OF MISERY tag, which I think is an essential for any spike thread.

Yes, despite the fact that you can only add two at a time, somehow 90% of the tags were added courtesy of four (Three, wade?) people.
What Spike says makes sense. Seriously, who is giving that much of a shit about me?
Not me.
But the boards are usually flooded with your posts, so I guess you've inspired a lot of people.
Oh yeah, being told I suck by random people, really gets me.
Sorry to have offended you Wade, but you and Gruber are pretty interchangeable.

Also Ed, leave this thread and never come back. Please, just once be smart.
There's only one Spike.
And thank God for that.

The thing with the tags is that they're anonymous and as such any usefulness is going to be ruled out using them to be douches. For everytime Darkmite? tags all of Iggy's awesome threads for easier consumption you'll have some anonymous fuck taking shots.
Tags are the best thing to happen to these forums since InTheShadows committed suicide.
Joke tags don't really matter- you can add a million joke tags, as long as the useful tags are in there somewhere. I guess it might suck for those who are targets for this sort of thing.
Looks like there is a maximum number for thread tags.

This thread already has the maximum number of tags and you are not allowed to edit any existing tags.

Humble prediction: these go the way of the Talkbacks by Labor Day.

I'm getting slayed by those fucking tags. God damn faceless nerd bastard.

I believe admins can see who tagged what in vBulletin. I'm sure they can mass-nuke the contributions of someone who's been adding bullshit tags (BobClark, WadeGruber, myself). It'll be fine.

EDIT: If anything, there might possibly be a vB hack that can restrict tagging to whoever originally posted the thread. I haven't looked myself, and haven't used any admin features of vB in a long time, so take that with a grain of salt.

Maximum amount of of tags? Bullshit!

I fucked with them quite a bit. MCP, 360, Stallone, Pixar, etc. And of course, John Ratzenburger. (sp?)
I don't have the searching power to tag a lot of threads.

I've had similar thoughts.
I liked them till this morning. Then I saw "First!" and repeated "Soapy-tit-wank".

Fuck people sometimes.

Nick can easily lock down tagging if he wants. I run the same software and you can limit the number of tags, tagging only threads you started, etc.
I don't know if anything needs to be done to the tags but damn if vagisil didn't crack me up. It's just so out of place......kind of.
Most of the websites I frequent openly admit thread tags are okay for comedy.

As awesome as Iggy's threads are, I can't take the credit. Never used the tag-function myself.
Tags are a good idea, particularly since the search function is so unreliable. They're mostly lame, easily-ignored jokes right now, but the novelty will wear off soon, and...they'll still mostly be useless jokes, but there will be less of them. Having a bunch of random tags shouldn't interfere with the actual functionality if I want to use them to search for all the threads on Lost or Watchmen or whatever, right?
Tags were fun when people were actually making jokes. Now they've become nothing more than mean-spirited potshots.
Hell, bring back rep if it'll clear the potshots out of the tags.

There is a maximum number of tags per thread (e.g., this one's already reached it's limit). It would suck if legitimate threads couldn't be tagged because of this nonsense.

*Or not. I hit edit tag prior to posting and it said it had reached its limit. I tried again after posting, and I'm allowed to create a tag.
You can go back and delete your own tags.
It's too bad that we actually lost a contributing member to these forums because of these.

It's too bad that anyone would take those things serious. Anonymous pot-shots should make one feel loved that someone cared enough to hate them but was coward enough to not do it in person.

WTF? Why do I keep getting dragged into this?!

I was mocking Spike's repeated accusations with that post.
Why is it that both of you can't stop creating harmful tags, but also keep talking about them?

Bob, Jake? Why do you like the pain so much?
Because it's the only thing I can feel anymore, Martin.

I really don't care for you...
/sarcasm

If I could add tags to the thread I'd have added "J/K B_MetalSucks!"

See, that would have been way better than dumbingo. Nothing tops "molti eats poop" though, that's funny shit. Mostly because Molti never loses his cool and plays it for a laugh.
I like how "mygoditsfullofbitches" is taking off as a tag. That one will get lots of play.

The cultslop thread tagged at the bottom of the page is a cesspit of bitterness. It's also pretty fucking hilarious.
