Any DC/NoVA Lawyers on the boards?

Can we network a bit? I'm fresh out of college (St. John's in Annapolis), and have an unpaid internship at The Hill Newspaper coming up in the fall. I'm looking for some part time work as a clerk/paralegal to supplement this experience and decide once and for all whether I want to pursue journalism or go into law. I just have my Bachelor's in Liberal Arts, but no JD yet. I wanted to work and pay down some debt before going back to school.

I've been looking for entry-level work all summer and no luck so far. Does anyone know anyone I can slip my resumé to? I'd appreciate any help.

There's two that I know of so here's a bump for you.

I'm an attorney in D.C. (nice bump, Callahan!), but too low down on the totem pole to help you out, unfortunately. I can tell you that you have one factor in your favor, which is that many paralegals head to law school in the fall, so this is the time to apply. Outside of that, just start papering the town with applications. Recognize that many major law firms have been brutally affected by the recession and may be reticent to hire someone for a staff position. Don't be afraid of medium size or boutique firms while you're looking. Best of luck!

Callahan: Really? Can you send me a PM with some contact information? I'd be forever grateful, and would buy you a beer once my poor ass gets some money.

The LD: Thanks for the advice. I have kept the recession in mind, and am still sending out applications. There's a lot of stuff out there for full time work, actually. Part time has been a tad harder to come by. Do you know of any good resources I could use? I have profiles on most of the bigger jobs sites, as well as DCJobs and craigslist. I'm looking after my dad and stepmom's kids for the summer to save some money, so I don't have very many opportunities to inquire in person.

I'd love to but LD here was one of them and Soul is the other but they're both at the same level unless that tall freak manage to finally kill Soul and get away with it. I'll ask my cousin and pm you any contact info if he comes back with a yay.
