Jake Lloyd 10 years later video - Page 2

I'm sure he had a little booth at some point, that's what they do with the celebrities at Star Wars weekends. Heck, they even had the director of the Clone Wars cartoon movie signing last year and this year (I'm guessing 99.99% of normal people couldn't identify him).

Genndy Tartakovsky?

I'd go more out of my way to get his autograph than I would someone like Peter Mayhew or the guy who played Admiral Motti.

"cartoon movie", no not him of course but Dave Filoni.

Of course he is bitter. Most probably had/has super pushy parents who were pulling his strings, telling him he was great etc etc etc

That "behind the scenes" video shows an unhappy, angry boy in my opinion: and I think that's exactly what Lucas latched onto.

There is one part where Lloyd is upset over a take, says he thinks everyone is looking down on him because he is screwing up, and the crew are trying to cheer him up. If he was like that as a little boy, think what he must be going through now.

If he really wants to move on, he needs to stay the hell away from Fing "star Wars Weekends". He should sell his organs before being in an autograph booth.

He's acting in a film I'm working on that shoots next week, actually. Ha.

I'm making the call for Osment to become the next Jackie Earle Haley.

Ten years from now, he'll be cast in the adaptation of the 'comic that nobody thought would get made into a movie' Preacher.

He'll follow that success up with remaking the horror franchise... Saw... I dunno, there's not really that many popular horror franchise these days. Of course, he'll be playing Jigsaw.

The kid's obviously a mess. Rocking back-and-forth like a madman and bitter as hell.
If the video is an indication of what he's like every second of the day, then sure. But he's being filmed as he's asked questions about his embarrassing adolescent experiences, so I don't think it's all that damning that he'd come across as uncomfortable. He's in college and pursuing a new career - pretty presumptuous to call him a 'mess' at this point.

To make use of another franchise's terminology, even as a kid, this guy was a Hufflepuff and, at the time, he was asked to play someone who should've veered either Gryffindor or Slytherin. He never radiated the "special"ness he should have for the role, and he still just sort of comes off as a shmoe, if a shmoe with a rather understandable chip on his shoulder.

That's the meanest thing anyone's said in this thread. Hahaha.

I wonder what his student films are like, maybe he has a leg up on all his film school classmates. He probably has some valuable inside knowledge, since he did have a starring role on probably the biggest blockbuster of the past 10 years.

True story: A friend of mine from high school won a chance to hang out with him at the 500. She said he was a huge asshole who bragged about his 4-wheeler the whole time.

Dark Knight was bigger.

Also, I would sincerely hope he is unable to live a day of his life without people shouting him down as he moves about the world. I want to know when he goes shopping for a new flat screen, the sales person says "Yeah.. That TV is really "Wizzard", Right? " flips him off, and walks away.

I know I should blame Lucas, and believe me, I do.... But it's hard not to harbor an intense hatred of Jake Loyd too.

But that's exactly why one adjusts for inflation, because the dollar is worth less now.

Wait a minute, I'm trying to talk sense, I'm sorry. Moving on.

When I look at Jake Lloyd I can still see the little boy that was in Unhook The Stars with Gena Rowlands. When they announced he was cast in Phantom Menace I was one of the few people who remembered him from that movie. It actually played at my movie theatre. Anyway I don't have any ill will towards him at all. He was after all only 9 or 10 when he shot the part. Give this guy a break--he owes us nothing. And he looks fine in this video.

Jesus christ, this thread is still active?

I think this is the nerdiest thing I've ever seen DaveB write.
Strange. I thought it was one of the more cold-hearted things he'd written. Nobody wants to be a Hufflepuff!!!! What did Lloyd do to DaveB that earned him such cruelty?

And another conversation with Kate ends in the only way it can.
