Scott Pilgrim: The Game

One question and one question only: will Scott fight robots?
post #3 of 106
I saw the title of the article and thought, "this better be a cartoony beat-em-up game!"

Sounds fun.
post #4 of 106
I'm pretty sure episode II of Watchmen was released on Blu-Ray as a part of that 'complete experience' set, which included the film and the games.

I'd love to see the Castle Crashers team take on this game though.
post #5 of 106
I really hope this is as awesome as it has the potential to be. It needs to have the robots and I want a level where Ramons fights Knives' father.
post #6 of 106
Does anyone else think that a Scott Pilgrim game could be "bigger"? Not to shit on the game before virtually any details are released, but I get the sense Ubisoft is going to slap some SP shit together and throw it out there regardless of quality.
post #7 of 106
They could go for a full black & white beat em up, like that "Pirate baby whatever" animation that was very popular years ago.
Beat em up would be great if they go for 4 player, multiple characters and lite rpg elements, just like Castle Crashers.

Oh yeah. That's an easy buy.
post #10 of 106
Freakin' PSN-only initial release with no timetable for XBLA blaaaaaarrghh.

I don't even care! It doesn't even look that great anyway! yes it does
post #11 of 106
It looks kinda incredible.
post #12 of 106
That trailer got really epic at the end! I'm getting this. Yay for PS3!

I'm a Floydaholic!

Did I actually just say that?
post #13 of 106
This should fill the void that is the lack of Castle Crashers on PSN. They reckon there's a psn version coming but I've been waiting so long that I'm dead inside.

4 player co-op, 2d sprites, street fighter moves and ninja's? This will do quite nicely. Hopefully its decently priced.
post #14 of 106
Was that an in-game Guitar Hero level? Brilliant.
post #15 of 106
Well that's me sold. And that music is all kinds of awesome.

Agreed. Something so perfect about doing this all 2d sprite beat-em-up..
post #17 of 106
Man, I really hope this includes the flashback from vol 2.
post #18 of 106
OMFG.

Castle Crashers may fill that void as well.

But yeah, the Scott Pilgrim game looks great.
post #21 of 106
This is good news as well. Based on past performances, the aussie PSN store will probably release Castle Crashers on the same week as Scott Pilgrim.
post #22 of 106
Coming to XBLA on August 25. That's only two weeks after the PSN release. Whew.
post #23 of 106
So... it's August 10th! What time is the game supposed to be available to purchase on PSN?
post #24 of 106
I wants it! I neeeeeeds it!!!!
post #25 of 106
Whenever the PSN updates which is generally sometime in the afternoon or evening.
post #26 of 106
Aw...

(thanks for the info)
post #27 of 106
Shouldn't the game be available first thing on the 10th? *frownsobs*
post #28 of 106
That's exactly what I was thinking! MISLEADING!
post #29 of 106
Yeah, unfortunately it's part of the usual PSN update schedule. Just be glad it's not on Thursdays like it used to be.
post #30 of 106
It's up! I'm downloading it now. It'd be cool if the game could be played with people online. That's not a feature, right?
post #31 of 106
Couch-op only!
post #32 of 106
I keep forgetting how much of an asshole the PSN is when it comes to downloading and installing shit. 172 MB should NOT take 40 minutes, you fuckers.
post #33 of 106
This game makes me so happy.

Sorry it's taking so long Justin. If it makes you feel any better, mine downloaded in about 4 minutes. Mwuh huh huh...
post #34 of 106
To be fair, it just finished. So it was closer to 20 minutes. Still ridiculous, but, you know, less ridiculous than 40.

I PLAY NOW!
post #35 of 106
It would be so great to be able to play with other Scott Pilgrim fans online. I'm pretty much the only one in my circle who would buy this game and play it.
post #36 of 106
Is the sub-space highway (rainbow road) supposed to look like it's partially in error? If so... that's cool! And utterly depressing that just seeing those blocks and numbers get me all worried.
post #37 of 106
I want the score already.
post #38 of 106
Seriously. They simply dont make 'em like this anymore.

That goes for the entire game, really. LOVE.
post #39 of 106
Dammit, but I want to wait for the 360 port so I can be seen online playing it!
post #40 of 106
One of the shops has a HIPSTER HAT for sale! YES!

Jesus... Envy is kicking my ass.
post #41 of 106
Yeah, this game seems pretty great. Not quite as tight fighting mechanics as Castle Crashers but still pretty good and the atmosphere and everything else is perfect.
post #42 of 106
Fuck I wish I had bought this earlier before my roommates started watching shit on Netflix should I kill them y/n
post #43 of 106
Are they watching THE CORE like I am right now? If so, then yes, you should kill them.
post #44 of 106
I have no idea. If this is going to be a "Sweet Release" kind of thing fuck that I want it to be revenge or a crime of passion.
post #45 of 106
FUCK YOU, TODD!!!
post #46 of 106
I'm kind of drunk and I don't feel like looking for my PS3 controller. See Jake, you're not the only one who is unable to play this game!

Oh, and are the controls set up to where I could use my FightStick and FightPad with this game? If not, I'm probably better off waiting for the 360 version as I don't have 4 DualShocks.
post #47 of 106
On the PS3, you can use both the D-pad and the analog stick to move.

Square = quick attack
Triangle = strong attack
X = Jump
Circle = Block
R1 = Spin-move
L1 = Call for back-up support

Dunno if that works well with a FightStick or FightPad, but there you go.
post #48 of 106
L1 and R1 are face buttons on the FightStick, so that's perfect, thanks. I suppose I'll download it on the Bluray player.
post #49 of 106
This game is fucking hard. No check points!
post #50 of 106
I had to play Clash at Demonhead SO many times...

At least it saves your progress when it comes to level-ups and money.
