Delayed games

Just read that both RED STEEL 2 and SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION have been bumped to Q1 2010. That's when BIOSHOCK 2 is now scheduled for release, as well as RED DEAD REDEMPTION. At this point, I think I'll be buying more games in March than between Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is kind of crazy. At least I'll have plenty of time to invest in MODERN WARFARE 2.

I would put in Duke Nukem Forever as being the world champ of delayed games, but it's death had taken it out of the competition.

Final Fantasy XIII's the current frontrunner. We're up to a four year delay.

Development on TOO HUMAN suffered through delay after delay for nearly a decade. I believe it was scheduled for the Gamecube and Xbox before finally winding up on the 360.

I'm just shocked at all the games being pushed back into next year. Are developers beginning to understand that they only shoot themselves in the foot by rushing unfinished games out the door to meet a deadline? Or is everyone scared shitless of MODERN WARFARE 2 and HALO 3.5?

I don't mind delays as long as they take the time to fix and polish the game. I was concerned they were rushing out Bioshock 2, but I'm glad its been delayed. More time means a better game. In theory.

Never heard anything about this at all, but apparently it was briefly mentioned once in 2007 with no further information. Safe to say it's probably long dead.
