Hey... so no one cared about those last two programs. You don't like Godard? You don't like Craig Baldwin? How do you feel about:

((audience))
5.1 Surround Sound Festival

((audience)) is an international, biennial festival of 5.1 Surround Sound artwork. The festival is an unprecedented project that explores the cinema as a 21st century concert hall. Conceived in 2006, ((audience)) is dedicated to the advancement of aural arts by providing wide distribution and new contexts for works by emerging and established sound artists and composers.

((audience)) at Red House will consist of six nights of programming each exploring a different perspective on the cinema as concert hall.
  • Thursday, September 17, 5-8PM: Last Wishes, an installation of kinetic light paintings from Providence based artist mudboy
  • Friday, September 18, 7PM: Live performances from Zach Layton, MV Carbon and the Loud Objects, all out of NYC
  • Saturday, September 19, 7PM: The main ((audience)) program featuring selected works from eight international artists, all presented in 5.1 Surround Sound "in the dark."
  • Thursday, September 24, 7PM: Music on All Sides features recorded musical works presented in the dark in 5.1 Surround Sound
  • Friday, September 25, 7PM: Cinema for the Eyes and Ears includes experimental cinema and "Psicklops," a 60 minute dark cinema piece by Raphael Lyon
  • Sunday, September 27, 2PM: This one is for Devin: The Karaoke brunch will feature mimosas, waffles from Funk N' Waffles, and karaoke set to the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

All events will be $10, Festival pass will let you in to everything for $20... that includes the waffles on Sunday.

In addition, there will be original works, artist interviews and spotlights broadcast on RedHouseArtRadio.org and some nifty soundtrack work overnight.

The Chewer discount remains in effect for all Syracuse, Rochester, Albany and Binghamton area chewers that want to make the trip out. The Chewer discount will be $2 off and a beer on me.
