Help my best friend get on Mad Men

So there's this contest that AMC and Banana Republic are doing together - you send in picture of your "most Mad Men outfit" and can win a Mad Men walk-on role and $1,000 in Banana Republic clothing. My best friend ended up entering and actually made it into the Top 10. In order to keep her there, she's going to need to keep getting votes.

I mean, I feel kind of lame asking, but would you guys be wiling to help? All you have to do is go to this link and give her five stars. Do it or don't, but your help would be much appreciated.
She's spot-on. Good luck to her.
Not only did I 5-star her, but I did you one better and gave everyone else one star.

My pleasure.
I think some of those guys confuse Mad Men for GQ.
Gave her one star. What's the point if there's clothes?
The women definitely have an easier time looking period than the men do.

I was thinking the same thing.. I really do not think many men had fo-hawks back in the day.

I would say that Carpets friend has a good chance, the other woman look a bit "off" so hope she makes it!
voted.
Nice.

Gave her 5.
She's not smoking or drinking. 1 star!

Just kidding.

Edit: Ha. I looked at all the other ones and a large amount of them either have a cig, booze, or both.

Did the same! Good luck, Carpet's friend!

Also, I just posted the link on my Facebook page. Here's to social networking!
That's fun. Good idea, getting us in on this.
It's not that hard to look period for cheap. White button down, narrow tie, hair combed in a certain way. Alternate with suit, slacks/jacket. I talked shit about doing it in the series thread, but wound up not having the time.

Voted.
Done.

Your friend actually looked like she belonged in that period unlike a good chunk of the other finalists. Not to mention, Michael Cera trying out is totally unfair.

Ha! I totally thought the same thing.
Hahha, I gave that guy five stars on the basis of that, and that alone.

Also, lol at this guy and this guy.

Some of these folks aren't even trying. Guess what, if you wore what you wear to work and took it in the board room, A for effort.
Since when did wearing a suit automatically make you "belong" in the 60s? Some of these fuckers look like they're sporting their church-clothes.

This guy also looks like he's from that era.
Carpet, do you know if your friend digitally manipulated yours? The one Jamie just posted and hers look like they went the extra mile to "age" the photo.

I thought the same thing, some of these people just don't have the 60's look
post #21 of 84
Most of the men don't seem to get it. Except for THIS guy.
Carpet, does your friend have a brother? I have a coworker from Naperville with the same last name and a mild resemblance.

Thanks, everyone. Though I'll admit she isn't the best up there, I really want her to win this. She dresses like she does in the picture almost everyday, believe it or not.

Mine...? I don't have one. But I'm sure she did open iPhoto and age hers, she does with a lot of pictures.

I love how some people clearly did not understand the contest.

Nah. she's got step-brothers, but they have a different last name.

Also, Alison's been bumped to the first page! Awesome.

I think this girl is adorable -

But this skank must have a lot of friends who are willing to vote for her, because I have no idea why this is in the lead -

Winner.
Apparently I'm not allowed to submit a photo of Ernest Borgnine because I didn't go to Banana Republic to get an entry code and copyright laws blah blah blah. Contest sucks. Gave 5 stars to your friend though. I'm hoping karma sets me up with some sweet shit.
I hope this guy wins.

**Edit: I'm spending way too much time on this site.

This one's pretty awesome.

Uh huh.

Michael Rapaport also chose to audition:

RE- Dude with the moustache and yellow teeth.
That looks like a 15 year old photo a real estate agent uses on his brochures.

Diva speaks the gospel. I never knew I had a Kennedy Era fetish until this thread.
This lady would be perfect for an I Love Lucy casting call.

But I also voted, you're friend looks like a class act.

Who knew Phil was in the contest?

Or Dave Berg from The Lighter Side of...

And apparently Esai Morales wants to be on Mad Men rather than Caprica:

Kevin Pollack: 1960s Dragon Hunter

"Mom said I have to dress nice for Richard's Bar Mitzvah."

You don't know how much money I would pay to see "Kevin Pollak: 1960s Dragon Hunter."

Ditto.

Nothing screams 1960s more than a cell phone.

There's one of a guy who photoshopped his picture into a polaroid with a little date in the corner. I wish I knew where it was, because that was my favorite of all the dudes.

I think now that I've seen the lack of creativity in some of these, I want to enter now, because really, not that hard.

Thanks again for voting everyone. You're of course totally welcome to vote once a day for Alison if you like.

Some more gems -

I know the picture you're talking about. I actually thought that was just a real old picture someone sent in for a second. I'll find it again and post it.

Also, if you really want to enter, I think I may still have an entry code around someplace. I was going to enter too actually, but I'm not 18.
