All due respect to Luther Perkins, he never played a wrong note, but there's damn few players I have less interest in trying to emulate on a plastic guitar.

That deal sounds tempting, but I'm convinced that it'll be even cheaper to buy this and GH5 a la carte once they hit the clearance bins next year. It probably won't even be a year before you can get them for $20 a piece.

....nope, still not interested.

Pre-ordered, realized I played GH:WT a grand total of three times, cancelled pre-order.

I haven't even bothered getting through all the song on GH: Metallica and I adore that band. I'm strictly renting GH games from here on in.

I think the fake plastic instrument age has come to a close.

No, Activision is just trying to milk the teat dry. MTV/EA are doing the right thing by focusing less on flooding the market with new doodads, and more on releasing DLC. Rock Band Beatles is kind of a special case, because if there's any band that absolutely deserves their own version of one of these games, it's them. Lego Rock Band, eh, it's for kids, but I can see why some people think it's a cynical money grab.

But a full Guitar Hero : Van Halen, in ADDITION to another full fucking bundle release with minimal gameplay changes? Seriously, that well is dry.

By the end of this year Activision will have released SIX Guitar Hero games (5, Metallica, Halen, Smash Hits, Modern Hits, Band Hero), plus DJ Hero.

The Harmonix guys seem a little terrified and confused by Activision's insistence on getting everyone sick of music games. I guess they figured they'd make their GH money while the fad was still hot, but man did they speed up everyone's apathy towards these games.

Which is why I can't wait to tell you (friday!) how fucking awesome Beatles: Rock Band is and some of the other features it has, because they have not just made a mindless spinoff here.

Yeah, RB: Beatles will be the very last "kit" I grab. I can at least use the drums as a midi-controller with Reason and record some "live" drum tracks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the multiple vocalists in harmony thing kind of a huge deal with RB : Beatles?
Yeah, that's FUCKING huge. The downside is that a lot of people are going to become vocal-"pros", and we're going to have to sit though a LOT of Beatles songs during the casting calls of American Idol.
