It is our 7th year for Fantasy Football. The GioMetric Angels are the defending champions.

Invitations have been sent to everyone. When you log in and accept your invitations, click on the year of the leage and go to 2008. You will be able to see your final rosters there. After that please decide who your 3 keepers will be and also give 2 alternates in case of injurys between now and the draft.

I set the draft for Monday, August 31 at 9pm Central Time. List your keepers here and I will set the teams up leading into the draft.

If you know of someone from our league that does not come here much anymore, please get in touch with them if you can.

I'll list the draft order and more shortly

Also, just for the hell of it I made our league a PLUS league which means more scouting info. It dropped in price from $129 to $29, so I paid the $29 to give us more shit.

Another bonus is the live stat tracker is now FREE which means you don't have to pay the $9.95 to use it anymore.

Good shit...

Also, by using PLUS I can finally break us up into divisions!!!

We had the rookie keepers. So it's 3 plus a rookie.

And when putting the players in the draft board you have to fill the first rounds or else the the draft order will be screwed up like last year.

3 Keepers:

Aaron Rodgers
Maurice Jones-Drew
Deangelo Williams

Rookie keeper:

Tashard Choice

Awesome that live scoring is free this season.

Keepers
Tom Brady
Braylon Edwards
Matt Forte

Rookie Keeper
Steve Slaton

Alternate Keepers (probably going to get waived anyway, but here they are)
Joe Flacco
Matt Shaub

Do you need us to send you $5 each to cover the cost of the league? It's been free every year up 'till now, right? Awesome that you upgraded us.
Yeah, I'd gladly send in $5.

And here is my Keeper list:

QB Carson Palmer
RB Brian Westbrook
WR Andre Johnson

Rookie Keeper (if I absolutely need to have one):

RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis

I'd be happy to send some $$ your way as well.

And Chris, everyone knows it's really Fiddler Crab season.

Anyone who wants to send money is fine with me. I am not asking for it, but would appreciate it.

PayPal is sslealos@yahoo.com

I will wait until everyone has signed in, do the keepers and then arrange divisions based on last year's standings (odd numbered in one division, even numbered in the other). I will also make double sure the draft is not screwed up this year!
Money sent. And spend it on your new kid, not any shitty OU stuff.
When do these Keeper picks get locked? My Keepers depend on if Rashard Mendenhall has a good camp.

If all goes well

QB Jay Cutler
WR Calvin Johnson
RB Chris Johnson

Rookie-RB Rashard Mendenhall

If Rasheed is bad
QB Jay Cutler
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Steve Smith

Rookie- RB Chris Johnson

I would like it to be a pretty solid list so we can all plan out our drafts. As long as you keep your rookie alternate, it should not be a problem. At least give us one week notice who you plan on keeping before the draft.
Divisions? Will there be 2 or 3?

I'm assuming if there are 2 the division winners get a spot(1st rd bye) and the top 4 regardless of division get a spot.

A question and a suggestion. Can you change the playoffs to the top 4 teams and have only weeks 15 and 16 as the playoffs? If so you can split us into 3 divisions. Division winners get a spot plus 1 Wild Card.

Plus you can play your divisional foes twice and every other team once.

Just a thought.
Ive got a lot of tough decisions to make with my roster, but here goes.

Keepers

Phillip rivers
Dwayne bowe
Marshawn Lynch

rookie

Felix Jones

Alternates

Eddie royal
Joseph Addai

MAKE WAY FOR THE CHAMPIONS!!!

*the crowd roars*

Thank you, thank you very much.

I thought I was going to keep the same RB trio I kept last year, but Reggie's knee scares me.

My keepers are:

Michael Turner
Clinton Portis
Dallas Clark

Rookie: None on my roster. As a result, the team's G.M. will be sacked.

Alternates:

Reggie Bush
Brandon Marshall

Adrian Peterson
Larry Fitzgerald
Jason Whitten

Rookie Keeper
Johnathan Stewart

Alternate Keepers

It only took us seven seasons, but now we're running like clockwork.

I really don't like only 4 playoff teams in a 12 team league. To me one of the funnest parts is the playoffs and limiting it to 4 teams makes it a lot less fun. I play in a league like that (the exact same playoff idea you mentioned) and I hate it.

If we do 2 divisions, it would be division winners get a bye and the next four regardless of division get in the playoffs for the first round.

If we do 3 divisions, it would be just like the NFL with the top 2 teams getting byes, the other division winner being a number one seed and 3 wildcard teams regardless of division.

I just want to keep it at 6 playoff teams personally
post #20 of 325
Yeah, I like the 6 team playoff format.
If you need somebody to fill in for one of the missing teams, let me know. I think I was in season 1 of this way back when.
A-Pathetic can have my team. I don't think I'll be able to play this year.
Sorry about the delay and short answer. I just don't have time to even read my email.

My team even though it came in last place should be really strong with it's rookie keeper and 1st pick.(again)
If someone wants to give the team love that I am no longer able to give it then I would be happy to turn over the reins.
Taking over Jay's team (as Jack Lambert's Teeth), I'll try to maintain the high standards from last season....

Keepers are:

Peyton Manning
Roddy White
Larry Johnson

Rookie Keeper:

DeSean Jackson

Alternate Keepers:

Willie Parker
Marques Colston

Is this something each of us needs to be doing, or is this directed at Starving Dog since he's setting up the league? Since it's a live draft I assume I won't have to set my board ahead of time online?

Also, I'm assuming we do a snake draft?
SD will take care of it. And yes, it's a serpentine draft, you un-PC mother fucker.
First, let me say, “…I'll try to maintain the high standards from last season...”
Second, I am glad that we as team can move forward and are confident that we have found someone with the level of passion necessary to turn this team around. This move, from General Manager to Concessions Coordinator, is for me, a great opportunity to help the people burdened with supporting this awful team. I believe this will be a win/win situation and look forward to the year ahead.
I'll keep the team warm for you if you end up having more time next season. If you don't, I'll just keep it going and then I'll have to shoulder the responsibility of driving it into the ground all by myself.

He puts the players in ahead of time. First 4 rounds will have players already in them.
how come we have an odd number of teams?

where should I send money to again starving?

Since Gio didn't have a rookie keeper, do we get to take a league vote on which player we stick him with in round 4?

I would suppose the position would be a worthless filler position, out of fairness to all. Someone like: Quinn Sypniewski, instantly dropped to pick up a substitute after the draft.

Whoa--I was listening to the Adam Carolla podcast this morning, and he was talking about the FFL that Jimmy Kimmel, Cousin Sal, and a bunch of those guys are in, and he said Sal wanted to institute a new rule for the league: The winner of the league each season gets to ban one team from the league for one year. That's hardcore.

And it's enough to kill most leagues. You couldn't even think about something like that unless it was a group of very old friends, and even then it would probably do too much damage.

I should be a little more attentive. We need a 12th team. Someone no showed. Any ideas, let me know ASAP.

The way we can do rookie keepers is if you don't have a rookie keeper you get someone crappy to fill in the spot (a backup kicker or something) and then get to replace that person after the draft is over.

** It won't let me do keepers until the 12th team is filled

Hilariously, I neglected to put a rookie on my roster at the end of last year. I guess I'll either pick an unclaimed free agent rookie from last year, or I may be forced to draft a kicker or Rex Grossman or something.

Since there is a CHUD Salary Cap league, still looking for players, I thought I'd set up Survival football.
