Undeclared

Number one. If I knew Freaks and Geeks would be so damned good, I would have watched Undeclared first instead of second. It's like following the Beatles.

That being said, the show for what it is is pretty damned funny. Just like Freaks and Geeks, there is a settling in period of about 4 episodes before it really takes off with the episode about finding a job. Currently I'm on the eighth episode and loving it.

Funniest line so far....

"Well I guess Sabrina the Teenage Witch will just have to DO!!!"

Hope the rest of series keeps up the pace. Great show.

It's a good show, but it's obviously a different set-up than Freaks and Geeks. Plus, you can spend your time eyefucking Charlie Hunnum. If you wish.

I would have so watched the hell out of a spinoff of Jason Segal and David Krumholz at the copy store.

Jason Segal is killing so far on this show. It's much more impressive since most of his appearances so far (episode 10) have been off screen.

"i'm so stupid i can't keep a phone from hanging up!"

I watched this show when it first aired on Fox. I've been meaning to revisit it since I watched Freaks and Geeks but other things just keep taking precedence.

"You're no longer my girlfriend, you're my girl ENEMY"

Also it was fun getting to episode 11 where Sam Levine plays a frat brother and the girl who plays Cindy from F&G shows up in a cameo. I have a feeling all the cast from that show is going to show up on Undeclared before it's over.

Yeah, Busy Phillips shows up.

I did enjoy at the end of the frat episode how everyone basically calls out the dumb bullshit of frat house behavior.

I remember seeing this back when it first aired and thinking "This Seth Rogen guy is going places." Then he sort of vanished, and when I saw him in 40 Year Old Virgin, I was like, "Hey, it's that guy!"

Monica Keena was some might fine eye candy in this as well.

Just finished the series. It's fine for what it is and it was great seeing some F&G allumni in this (Martin Starr was a surprise) but at the end of the day it's kind of disposable. I'm glad I saw it, there was some real funny stuff there, but I don't see myself revisiting this in a few years like I see myself revisiting Freaks and Geeks. Decent show though and a must for Apatow completists.

Whatever happened to Charlie Hunnum?

Here's the difference between the two series for me. While I could totally relate to Freaks and Geeks and felt like it nailed the general high school experience, I always felt there was something off about Undeclared portrayal of the college life. Of course my time at a small liberal arts school would be different then their university life.

Well they were two different beasts. One was more like a funny drama and the other was a hilarious sitcom. I feel that if Undeclared was an hour long program, we might have had the potential for something really awesome. As it is, it was like that failed attempt by FOX to make a 30 minute version of the Ally McBeal show. The funny was there but it really dropped the ball on character work.

He's also on Sons of Anarchy.
