Please don't derail threads by attacking these two for their personalities. If you have a problem with the content of their posts, please feel free to argue with them, but when they're on topic and you're just flaming them it's shitty.

On top of that, you just shouldn't give attention to people who are craving it like that.

So if you want to engage them on topic, please do. Otherwise, add them to your ignore list.

Fleed I do not mind, but I might have to take you up on your advice on Princess Kate. I am a very, very patient person, but mine is almost out on her / him.

I just can't muster up rage over Duke Fleed anymore, period, and Princess Kate can at least somewhat string sentences together, so I'm doing the safe thing and just generally ignoring them (save for my usertext, obviously). I just don't get how someone can erupt in incoherent rage whenever they see either of these names attached to a post anymore.

Except for Chap Saxon, I mean, but that guy's always come off as the dude who traps squirrels just to light them on fire and jerk off as they die.

EDIT: My "bait thread" comment was pure sarcasm. I'll add more smilies next time or something.

I'm cool with Fleed, I find his posts to be pretty entertaining and off the wall. Never saw the point in getting pissed off at someone on an internet message board.

She's shitting up every thread possible and at this point it's been noted that even when ignored it's impossible not to have the misfortune to read stuff that's been quoted. I tried to engage in conversation until it became brutally obvious that she was trolling, but a warning like this will really impact very few people.

Th only thing that annoys me about dumbasses like fleed is that he's impervious to enlightened opinions or spirited debate. The guy is exactly the same person as he was when he first joined the forums. I have to wonder why the idiots hang out here. There's virtually no point in engaging them in any sort of conversation. So I ignore them, and their substance-free posts are a trifle annoying, but it isn't worth getting too worked up over.

What's the big deal anyway? Kate's illiterate but so is half of the internet. Fleed has childish tastes, meanwhile you guys post page after page fretting over the minutiae of comic book movies. In any event neither of them are getting banned anytime soon so maybe concern yourselves a little more with things that actually matter.

I know wisdom states that you should ignore her (and I do have her on Ignore), but as stated, people quoting her - enagaging her - still helps ruin otherwise interesting threads. Her completely sub-inane posting in the Basterds post-release thread epitomises this.

Not getting worked up, just hate the "i'm going to skip watching/discussing this film" attention whoring that she's particularly bad at.

I disagree strongly with Fleed on most things, but at least he is honest about liking what he likes. Case in point; he abhors the new Battlestar Galactica but loves the 70's version. He can articulate why he likes one and dislikes the other. It's just that he chooses to do so in an extremely annoying way.

If you'd actually read Devins thread where he called her out as Creepy Thin Man then surely you'd have read that an IP check was done and it was found she is not - hence Devin changing his tune as he did.

It's called 're-assessing after new information comes to light', you may have heard of it.

Again, Millettes words are wisdom and truth and ignore is your friend, how is this so fucking hard?

Seriously? How is someone talking to her ruining any thread? You have a scroll-wheel (or if you're on a Mac the little scrolly-ball thing) - just roll past it. Is that REALLY that much trouble? The fact that you're even commenting on it means that you're "worked up" past the point of reason.

She's just TALKING. She's not abusing the boards, the staff, the members or the rules in any way - she's just participating. Part of the problem here is people start thinking of the boards as their safe haven from the real world where everyone thinks along the same lines as they do. The problem with this is that a)the internet should never be a safe haven from anything, and b)trying to completely remove yourself from opposing thought is never a good thing either. Or would we prefer to have the boards moved to a town hall format?

It's ok to wish someone would go away, not ok to make somebody go away, if all they're doing is being kinda irritating.

*sigh* I fell into this trap yesterday and got into a really juvenile pissing contest when I should have been an adult and walked away. It really just made me look bad. I shall follow this advice in the future.
