listen.. i am trying to keep my head down and it is NOT my goal to feel hated here. HONESTLY. i have long admired your forum, and the intelligence and taste of the people on it. i am doing my best not to cause waves and i would hope you would all give me the courtesy to read what i have to say without prejudice (pre-judging). anyway, thats all, thanks in advance.

Well, by keep my head down, i mean avoid arguments. i got in a few in my first few days, and i'd rather make new friends than new enemies, so i'm trying to stick to non controversial subjects, or at least not get in a snit when people disagree with me. if there is some rule about posting in old threads i'll avoid that, but i am new to the board, so you know... was not there to comment on those threads a year ago. Also, wow, 8 days already? time is seriously flying this summer...

I was so going to turn this into a Kate & Allie appreciation thread but I like Van Read's idea better.

I want to fill you with the warmth of a thousand suns and good tidings for all your days Kate and maybe sell you some time shares in lovely Boca Raton.

I keep seeing people mention that Kate has caused them to break out the ignore function for the first time. I'm curious just how many others she has thusly inspired, and this seemed as good a place as any for a head count.

She was my function's first. It weathered Swedish Miyagi, it grinned and bore Snaieke, it withstood all of Creepythinman's multiplicative advances, but Kate wore it down in less than a week. Tip of the hat to you, you irritating, omnipresent cretin.

Broke out the Ignore button for only the second time for the Princess but it's the exact same situation as you have with Fleed though; it doesn't actually help because you have to skim past a seemingly endless parade of posts, and now threads, jabbering about her.

Ignoring was my plan from the get go; it's worked for everyone else that's irritated me. But she's fucking everywhere, in every thread (the first four threads I clicked on tonight had a total of 6 new posts, all hidden because Princess Kate has been added to my ignore list). And when I do catch a bit of her ramblings because someone quotes or my comp signs me out from inactivity, they're aggressively stupid without fail.

She evidently needs to be reminded how much she sucks with great frequency, and I didn't want to burden a real thread with it.

Chewers bashing other Chewers for posting...Asinine things? I am sorry, that is just...Asinine. If you do not like something being discussed in a thread...don't post in it. If people do not like Princess Kate, why create a thread about her. Several threads of this kind, attacked me in the past, and I don't think this concept makes any sense. Why do the haters of a particular person just send a personal message to each other, and not in a post about something else? I felt that...someone should defend...Princess Kate, and these threads setting...Chewer against Chewer. Is this CHUD.COM, or is there a...Civil War brewing, on the best internet site in the world?

To answer your question, she's the first person I've ever used the ignore feature for. I kind of like how I can still see what was written if someone else deems it worthy enough to quote in their response post. It's sort of like watching highlights rather than the whole 3-hour Oscar broadcast.

ETA: HUGE Duke Fleed fan, btw. In fact, I'm supportive of abnormal posters in general.

Oh Screw you guys. Kate started out posting with a really obnoxious pretentious online persona but has now become more laid back and fun. Her contributions to the "CHUD thread of the unexplained" alone should make her presence here welcome.

I mean, my God, Devin launched an investigation into her and determined she's not a troll.

So I say, "Let Kate be Kate" and tell us about how dinosaurs were running around until early in the 20th century, how her neck hurts, and her smoking habit (which seems to be somehow related to her neck pain?)

I didn't say she was a troll or needed to be banned. That decision's obviously been made, and that's that.

Her bullshit is just so unrelenting that I wanted to encourage her to knock it off, away from anything resembling a real thread. Maybe should've skipped right over to the personal insult thread, but too late now.
