Project Runway - Season 6 - Page 2

Snooze. These designers' clothes are so boring. I wish Ra'Mon were still in the competition. He always shot for the moon.

The right person went home last night. Logan's been the biggest non-entity of the entire season, and his outfit was easily one of the worst of the entire season.

Irina should have won again last night. I think that they gave it to Althea strictly to keep Irina from winning a fourth round, that's it.

It's moot, though. Irina's got this season in the bag.

I think they called it wrong last night. I do think Logan's design - although 80's - was better than Gordana's. Design-wise, I think she should have gone home over him.

But speaking as a fan? My girl was SAFE! I was sweating it - I thought, "Oh, my Gordana's going home for that lackluster piece of crap." I let out a "Yay!" when Heidi told her she was safe. Maybe it wasn't fair, but looking at Logan's boring clothes and listening to his stoner-monotone week after week was getting on my nerves. Yeah, yeah, yeah, "he's so cute, he's the only straight guy", blah blah blah. Here's your hat, what's your hurry?

I like Gordanna too. I don't know HOW she was able to justify sending that piece of crap down the runway, though.

As much as I wanted Gordanna in there, I really think that they got the final three EXACTLY RIGHT. I'll be very surprised if Irina doesn't win this thing, though.
I totally think the right three are moving on to Bryant Park. When it's time to decide who goes to Fashion Week during that last challenge, the judges need to not go by who did well in that particular challenge, like they always do. That challenge is the one where they need to look at the whole body of work - which, yeah, those three women are the strongest. I liked Gordanna a lot, but I have to think she's not strong enough to come up with a full collection. Her good stuff is VERY good, but she's largely been hit or miss. And let's not even talk about Christopher!
I'm not sure Irina is going to run away with this. All three have a very strong work ethic and point of view. With more time, I think Althea will be able to live up to her ambitions. And Carol-Hannah just has an amazing eye for detail. I loved the rope strap in the dress.

Chris crying about how he saw beauty in a rock is both sweet and revolting at the same time. He so much sees himself as an outsider who's misunderstood. But he's not realizing that the judges aren't putting him in the bottom because they don't "get" his visions. They put him in the bottom because he's not experienced enough to execute them well.

Christopher was very, very strong to begin with. Heidi nailed it, though: he needs more experience and a good mentor to bring him along. More than anyone there, he's got raw, unfocused talent that needs to be honed.

I was distracted during the preview for next week's episode. Does it look like one of the girls gets sick?
Yeah, I think Carol Hannah gets sick during Fashion Week. I heard Tim say something about, "she's very sick, and it's contagious." Maybe the flu or something.

I think if she can pull it together and get over whatever bug she has, CH could very well give Irina a serious run for her money. My bet is one of the two of them is the winner, with possibly Althea coming in third.

That was a pretty good episode last night. Having CH be sick for the last half added some unexpected drama to the finale, and I found it interesting that the previews for next weeks PART 2 didn't show her at Bryant Park at all. It would be wild if she were totally knocked out and Christopher had to do all of the finishing work for her.

I also found Tim's comments on the 3 collections to be interesting. He seemed really critical of Irina's and Althea's collections, but he seemed rather positive on CH's. With CH being sick, next week should be geat.

Meana Irina, HAH. Tonight should be interesting, then.

Wow! Cheater cheater pumpkin eater won anyway! And the shirts never came up. (Judas, did you get the link to work?)

I wonder if it's because - with all the hassles that held up the show a full year between filming and airing - that they just didn't discover that she flat out copied slogans from the article until months after it was over.

Editing to add in a few links from Television Without Pity, and NY Magazine online:

A good basic background synopsis on the copying from one TWoP poster to another, complete with links

Another poster who seems to know quite a bit about copyright infringement

NY Magazine themselves weigh in - article was from Tuesday. Their full recap - and I'm sure their reaction - will be up today.

They really need to keep with the same judges from week to week. While guest judges are nice (occasionally) they don't have the benefit of seeing how well (or bad) a designer has been doing. As such, this season sucked ass.

I must concur with this 100%

Also, Carol Hannah's collection was MUCH better than Althea's imho. After seeing the collections walk down the runway, I really thought that it would be a close contest between CH and Irina with Althea a distant third. I don't know WHAT the judges saw in Althea's show that made them like it, frankly.
I thought they all did pretty well, but nothing really stuck out. You knew they were going to give it to Irena just because she tried to put on a show a tad. Jockey caps. Her explanation of her vision was hilarious, tho. But, whatever. I was rooting for CH because she seemed fairly nice. But what a boring season. Models of the Runway was more exciting.

Yeah, this was a pretty flat season overall. At least we only have to wait until January for the next one.
I haven't read anything about the new season but hopefully Nina and Michael don't travel so much and can spend some time actually judging.
Well, the show moved back to NY so that helps in terms of allowing Nina and Michael (both based in NYC) to be present.

Apparently my DVR committed jihad on this show because it didn't tape the last two weeks. I turned the channel last night just in time to see the runway show. Based solely on that, I thought Carol Hannah had the most interesting pieces, Irina the best "show", and didn't like Althea's collection at all.

Snooze of a season, both in terms of personalities and products made.

Diva: here are the highlights of the last 2 episodes:

- All three went off for a few months to do their collections. Tim did his usual visits and seemed to be the most impressed with CH's work.
- Irina was using Coney Island T-shirts on a few of her outfits. Tim called her very late in the game to tell her that she couldn't use those for copyright purposes. She scrambled to create alternates.
- They all showed up in New York, but CH was very sick with a stomach flu. Chris, Logan, and Gordanna were brought in to help them out, but CH struggled with her sickness the entire time.

That's really about all that you missed.
Thanks, though it seems I didn't miss much.

You really didn't, although CH's illness provided a much needed injection of interest.
Although Althea's designs were definitely the ones that would sell the most in stores since they could actually y'know be worn by humans outside, I have no fucking idea why CH was called before her. CH was robbed.

I have to agree about the inconsistency of not having the same judges every week. And the panel loses quite a lot without Nina Garcia and Michael Kors there every week. Which, as pointed out, is another great reason to just bring the show back to NY and keep it there - Garcia and Kors weren't able to leave NY that often, which is why they had everybody and their uncle judging each week in LA.
