Don't know if this has been discussed here or not, but this service rules. It's the only place you can get Freebie and the Bean on DVD for one. Plus they just added a slew of new shit. I'll finally be able to get rid of that bootleg copy of Urgh! that I've been wearing out for the past ten years; same goes for Boulevard Nights, the quintessential East LA flick.

Plus, Not Quite Hollywood fans heads-up; they've just added Mulcahy's Razorback as well. Sweet...

Damn skippy. Anybody who fancies themselves a fan of punk, new-wave, post-punk, blah, blah, blah has to see this flick.

Caught this on Turner Classic some months ago, very dated but still a cool little flick with an authentic feel. Richard Yniguez should have been a bigger star. These days he probably gets "weren't you that shaman in The Manitou?"

on topic- if you're ordering from the online store, try using the coupon code "FANDANGO" for $10 off a $50 order.

Just a heads up if you've purchased these made-on-demand Warner Archives titles, there's been talk on Home Theater Forums of some of the discs crapping out over time. Discs that have played fine may refuse to play a year later, etc. most likely due to a poor burn process. This is a risk with MOD titles in general since they use DVD-R discs.

If you've got these, you might want to back them up or check older titles and contact Warner Bros. for a replacement.

Thanks for posting that. At least a dozen DVDs that I'm going to need to check now.

I just got a hookup with Warner Archives; offering me some free titles. I'm pressed for time at the moment so I can't fart around on their website like I'd like to. Anyone got some good suggestions?

for starters:

Bad Ronald

the original Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Jack the Ripper (miniseries with Michael Caine)

Special Bulletin

Razorback

William Castle's Macabre

A Return to Salem's Lot (there are many who think this is a terrible sequel to Tobe Hooper's superb King adaption, but it has Samuel Fuller as a Nazi hunter who becomes a vampire hunter therefore those people are WRONG)

Dying Room Only (Matheson scripted 1970s TV movie precursor to "where's my wife?" thrillers like The Vanishing and Breakdown and Frantic... on a double bill would go great as the appetizer to Duel's main course)

Freebie and the Bean

Hit Man

The Honeymoon Machine

The Green Slime

The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing

Sexy.

Though the original DON'T BE AFRAID has a new DVD coming out, fyi, in case any one was thinking of getting it from Warners Archive. New transfer.

Of course, Brewster McCloud.

Also: Pretty Maids All In A Row, Slither, Rage, The Terminal Man, Dirty Little Billy.

Echoing the love for FREEBIE AND THE BEAN -- an absolute must gotta own!

Also THE TERMINAL MAN. Great 70s thriller by Mike Hodges (GET CARTER) from a Crichton novel, very bleak and powerful.

And:

AL CAPONE

THEY CAME TO ROB LAS VEGAS

GOLD OF THE SEVEN SAINTS

Man. So much good shit to choose from in that Archive. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I already have RAZORBACK and FREEBIE AND THE BEAN. So I went with:

Pretty Maids All in a Row
Brewster McCloud
Rage
Jack the Ripper

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get another dip at some point in the future.

I like strange movies and there are quite a few that I've heard a lot about, but have never seen, at the Archive.  So if I could get these movies for free just to satisfy my curiosity, I'd get:

"Bad Ronald"

"The Boy With Green Hair"

"Hot to Trot"

"Legends of the Superheroes"

"Under the Rainbow"

But as for more serious "this is actually good" suggestions:

"The Phantom Tollbooth" - One of Chuck Jones' only features and a pretty good adaptation of the beloved book to boot.

"Flight of Dragons" - An oddity from the same studio that did "Last Unicorn" and "The Hobbit"...

"The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" (as "Rankin/Bass Christmas Double Feature") - ...and this barrel of crazy!  There are understandably a large number of kids who saw this at a young age and assume it was a crazy half-remembered dream.

"The Animal World" - Haven't seen this but it's got Ray Harryhausen and Willis O'Brian animating together!

Finally getting around to watching my copy of JACK THE RIPPER. Holy shit. Good, good stuff.
