Smallville S9 Hotter than ever. - Page 3

I liked the staging of the Chloe rescue. The whole freeze frame thing was actually pretty cool.

Did Waller know about Clark's identity beforehand? Because he didn't seem particularly concerned about it when he confronted her. I guess it's a moot point though with Jones doing the memory wipe.

Man. That was an amazing episode! I loved every second of it and a big ditto on the Chloe rescue being cool. It looked like pages out of a comic book, kudos for whomever thought that one up.

Tess didn't know Oliver's secret, he thought about telling her back when he slept with her (last season?) but then she kicked him out of bed. Also she betrayed him a couple of times as a villian when she kidnapped meta's for a 'war'. We suspected she was creating an 'anti-justice league' but they tied it together nicely with her working for Checkmate.

Also Waller didn't know Clarks secret she just knew him as the blur and he learned the hiding in the shadows thing with Lois.

I want to know who the red queen is.. Could be Martha Kent (red hair) she is a Senator and if Checkmate is a government organization, she could have known about it and gotten updated on it. However, the 'grey' wouldn't really apply to her, since she's always been 'good' in terms of the show.

If it's Martha, I would imagine that she would have told her son about a secret organziation weaponizing metahumans prior to doing that.

Unless there's some missing scene where Martha finds out and then fills in Clark.

Maxwell Lord.

I'd love for Luthor to be involved with all of this somehow but it's not going to happen. Has Rosenbum been doing anything thesedays.

Rosenbaum isn't coming back, I think he's going to be doing a show for Syfy.

What a step up for him.

Red Queen has gotta be Martha Kent.
I don't know, are her legs that nice?

You're probably right though, even if it doesn't really make sense.

Considering the writing on this show, though drastically improved, it's probably Tess. Since she was kicked out of Checkmate and the only way for them to get out is to die. So she's probably doing it to get all the metas for herself.
Well, that answers that. Didn't even have to wait until next week.
Yeah, still makes no sense though.

At least it's gotten somewhat interesting. And everyone can fly, but Clark? C'mon.

Watchtower aside, hot damn that was a good episode!

I don't see how Clark can handle an army of super powered soldiers, at least the comic book gave him some sort of an edge on experience with powers.. but these dudes just seem to know everything.

Zod listening to his dying kid's heartbeat was actually a pretty affecting scene. It would have meant more though if we had known about it for longer than 5 minutes though. Waller shrugging off being thrown into a windshield was a little much but this show has done that before. Just have to roll with it sometimes.

Solid setup episode for the finale, glad to see Mrs. K back on the show. Not gonna lie, anything short of a full on Justice League vs. Kandorians is gonna probably let me down. Would be interesting to see Metallo make a return, he could fuck some Kandorians up.

Think how awesome that would be. Metallo, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman (ok, maybe not him), Black Canary, Zatanna, Green Arrow, Hawkman, stargirl, the three Legionaries from the future and Clark battling super powered Kandorians.

I hate the CW for being low rent and not funding that shit.

Some of them are gonna be there(Manhunter, Stargirl, Black Canary, Hawkman, Cyborg and Green Arrow) so hopefully it wont be too bad. If anything it shouldn't be as lame as the Doomsday "fight". I think it's a two hour episode too so at least it's got plenty of time to wrap the season up.

Here's my prediction in invisotext: Given what we were told about how the Book of Rao works last week(btw, how the heck does Martha Kent know this stuff?) Im thinking its gonna end up with Clark taking some blue kryptonite to depower himself and then sending the Kandorians to the phantom zone with the book..

I didn't read the top inviso text but I did catch your prediction. I like it here's my take on that... (remember, the EL bloodline can escape the phantom zone.. so if he does go there he has an escape route (unless that was destroyed... I forget) ... alternatively, maybe someone will quickly pull him out of earth at the last second (either manhunter or the legionaires.. if they're in the episode).. however how awesome would Booster Gold be as the guy to save the day!??!???? and... scene.

Superman is not a Christ allegory dammit.

Not a bad episode though. What was up with the old sewing lady? Lex Luthor in drag?
Granny Goodness. She is connected to Darkseid and the furies. She's a bad guy. Just aguess tho.
Always pisses me off when they have characters beg and plead with Clark for the truth when they've pretty much already figured it out and he's able to lie to their faces like that. And here the guy finally has an excuse to open up and they invent up some terrible logic not to. His lying does not come across as noble at all, it just makes him look cold and cruel.
Except Welling always plays Clark as a horrible liar (acting choice!). Completely see through. That's probably what's so insulting when he does it to people who've figured out there's something going on. Someone just needs to tell him to cut the shit, and then list off all the stuff they've already figured out instead of just letting him get away with it.

Also:

Wow, I can't believe they're going to kill Clark. What a suspensful cliifhanger they've come up with.

I was thinking the same thing. If that turns out to be true, you think the things that got Oliver were Parademons? Both would be kind of interesting but I doubt that is it.

That was a really good season final. Very much enjoyed watching it!

I'm glad I didn't predict that ending, it was so incredibly good it makes me beg for the next season tomorrow. The first few minutes of the episode really set it up for what is to come, I hope. Even though the Jusice League didn't fight the Kandorians I was still really happy with the way this turned out. It's a shame there wasn't a Justice League TV series coming in the fall, this would have been a great set up.

That being said, the first episode back is predictable. Manhunter saves Clark, Lois confronts him as the blur and because he is human he can't be the blur then he gets his powers restored. Even though I know all that, I wouldn't want this to change... LOVED it! The end fight scene was just so cool!

Yeah, he's Moses.

Yeah, that was actually an awesome finale. Surprised the fuck out of me. I was expecting another 10 second showdown, but I really liked how they handled the budget concerns by having a mano y mano fight. I also liked how it actually showed Clark went through his Kryptonian training. Altogether an awesome finale and a great cliffhanger. OH and it was great how Zod fought so hard to give his people powers, only to have their superhearing be his own undoing.

Actually, in Smallville it was established the effects of blue kryptonite are temporary. When it was first introduced, it merely suppressed powers when Kryptonians were in the vicinity of it. Their powers returned when they were away from it. It was only ever permanent when Jor El used it on the City of Kandor.

So really all Clark would have to do is pull out the dagger and throw it away.

Bodog.com's odds on that being the first 10 seconds of next season: 99,000,000 to 1.

Fun finale for a fun season. I no longer have to pray for the show's cancellation to save me from myself. That's nice.
Ha there's even a rumor he might pull it out and then FLY since he accepted his destiny and would no longer have a mental block about it. But I doubt that would happen, as cool as it would be.

Interesting. Does that mean the Kandorians were sent to New Genesis? (wouldn't think a very good back up plan would be sending them to Apokolips but also a possibility).
