Sparks-The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman

I just got into Sparks these last few months, I'm a huge fan now.

Anyway, they wrote a musical for Swedish radio, about an hour long. They are supposed to release the english version in October.

From what I can gather (some of it is in Swedish), it's about Ingmar Bergman having a surreal adventure being courted by Hollywood.

Listening to this, I'm surprised Sparks haven't done anything (besides Plagiarism) with Mike Patton. This has similarities with some of the stuff Patton has done with Bungle and his Tzadik works.

It's fun and catchy, I like it............

I like Sparks, and I'm always up for a good new musical, so this is great news!

They're still around? God, that's wonderful. I don't think I've bought a Sparks album since Angst In My Pants, but they always bring a smile when I hear them.

That was the only concert I can ever recall getting together with friends and dressing up for (in our New Wave finest). Needless to say, Russell made us all look like dorks, and Ron was geek cool personified.

Yes, still around and making interesting music in their 60's. It wouldn't hurt you at all to preview any of their last 3 albums-Exotic Creatures of the Deep, Hello Young Lovers, and Lil'Beethoven. Catchy melodies, multitracked Russell harmonies, hi-tech symphonic pop, amusing lyrics, all good stuff!
