Curb your enthusiasm S9

Just because at least 5 episodes will be astonishing I opened this thread in advance. I will wait for THUD or post some news later.
Season 7 indeed.
I definitely can't curb my enthusiasm for season nine. I bet they do one more to round it out to ten and call it a show.
Isn't this going to be the 7th season?

I'm extremely stoked about it, though.
I bet they do THREE more and round it out to ten.

ETA: I'm such a simpleton. It says season nine in the title and in my mind I had zero right to question that. "He started the thread, therefore he knows!"

Love David's face in that photo. It's like he's stuck at a family reunion with all the relatives he hates.

(I know that look quite well)

Just a personal pet peeve, but all that hair dye annoys me. Costanza looks especially ridiculous.
I just love Larry David's tortured face.

I hope this doesn't happen constantly regarding this Seinfeld reunion.
So does that mean they're going to adress his Comedy Store meltdown on Curb (I'm too lazy to read that whole Seinfeld article)?
I don't see why they wouldn't address the "racism" in some fashion, or quick joke.
I've been kind of hazy on when this was actually premiering, but I just read it's this Sunday at 9. I can't wait!
I guess it was up against the Emmys and football, but come on, nobody has anything to say about the return of one of the best shows on television? The premiere was hilarious as usual. They set up some very promising plotlines, and didn't even get into the whole Seinfeld reunion angle yet. I think it's going to be an awesome season.
Jesus, that's the worst situation possible.

And its a testament to this show that I actually wanted Cheryl and Larry to get back together.
I was glad they had the balls to actually end last season the way they did, but ultmately Larry and Cheryl have to get back together. She's the perfect foil for him and even through all the times he pisses her off and they fight, they make a good couple with good chemistry. The scene between them at the restaurant was genuinely sweet. So it's going to be awesome seeing how they pull it off, considering it requires Larry to do arguably the most hilariously low thing he's done in the history of the show. The last scene was amazing, laying on the burden so thick.
The doctor was awesome. Kudos to the actor.

"Zero holes!"
"Don't condescend to me with your tiny pear!"
"Incontinence...did I say that already?"

Great start to a new season of disasters.
Not too fond of this new polished "filmed" look of the show. Don't know why they made that switch.

Content wise it was funny as all hell, especially Jeff returning all of Bam Bam's flirtations at the dinner table.
Was it more polished? I thought it was just that the show conformed to the 16x9 ratio. Entourage, which was always a pretty slick show also felt like it got a major make-over when it went 16x9.

"Don't make an empty gesture to the Funkhausers! They'll take you up on it!!!"

The simple shot of Larry's car booking it down the street had me laughing. This show never fails to get my blood boiling. And I pretty much always side with Larry.
Great return. Loved seeing Larry and Cheryl back together. Larry fainting at the end was great.
The scene with Larry and Cheryl outside was indeed sweet and funny. Her small doses of Larry explanation was brilliant. "When you were working on Seinfeld, actually doing something, it wasn't so bad." Isn't it obvious that this is why he'll get the idea for the Seinfeld reunion?
BTW: Wanda Sykes mentioned in passing that she nominated Larry for a NAACP Image Award on the show last night. I bet you that factors into Michael Richards plot line.
Anyone see the behind-the-scenes special for Season 7? It was amazing how much I smiled simply from seeing the image of the Seinfeld cast in the original set again.
Just caught up with this. So funny. Every single bit killed. I loved that the group screamfest was actually devoted to Jeff, rather than Larry. I love that Larry is still obsessed with ridiculously shallow stuff (the fish aren't pets diatribe was great). Super Dave always brings out the best meltdowns in Larry. And seeing Cheryl and Larry share a moment was sweet (she is the impetus for Larry to bring the Seinfeld cast back together and it was a great set up with the "Larry time" issue).

My only nitpick (and its minor) is that the Loretta subplot was to similar to a Season 1 episode where Larry advises Cheryl's cousin's finance that three days after a funeral for an aunt is enough time to wait before initiating a break up.

Glad this show is back!

Sure, it's similar. But isn't it really more of a sign of consistency of the way Larry views the world?
Yeah, it is total Larry. Just would like to see a fresh perspective from as a viewer, though it likely stuck out because I just did a Season 1 marathon.
The thing with Refrigerators is so funny and so true. It is right up there with the "Cut off time when calling someone" bit in season 1.
That was some Mighty fine blowjob humor. 'Second hand semen'.
And I'm glad Leon is sticking around.

"You fuckin her wit me, Larry!"
Leon and Larry: the new odd couple? Such an awesome pair. Good blow-j jokes and Larry turning the annoyingness up to 11 is always funny. He gets so goofy and jovial. Also the observational packaging humor is sort of an obvious "what's the deal with..." joke but still made me laugh, cause it IS so true. And the payoff at the end was great.
The whole episode had me in stitches. The Jeff crashing due to BJ/knife being in the plastic package was the most perfect capper ever.
This show is firing on all cylinders. There was not a dull moment. Plus, you can't o wrong with blow job humor.
That episode had everything. Richard Lewis' relationship troubles, Jeff getting some action (twice in a row!), Leon sticking around, Larry being extra annoying and blow job humor!

And next week Seinfeld! I tell ya, if they have to end the show on a season, this is it.
the lego bit killed me. happy to see leon sticking around.
Haven't seen any yet (don't have HBO), but very glad to hear they're going to keep Leon around. That guy is awesome.
This was the perfect Curb episode. Everything hit with me right away. Can't wait to see Leon and Michael Richards go at it.
"So I guess this means you'll be..."

"goin upstairs eat this fuckin chinese food, in my fuckin room!"
This show has gotten so much more cartoony and broad than when it first started, but I DON'T CARE. I love Larry mugging for the camera. Going "glunk!?" when Susie yells at him. It's seems pretty obvious that he has a great time making this show, I think it's starting to crack through his curmudgeonly performances into something jovial (as someone stated above).

I laughed HARD when that self-help doctor started pounding on him with the book. I wanted to KILL that presumptuous cancer-ridden Julia Louise Dreyfus fan. Hahaha.
"We are Legos. We are interlocked together. WE fucked her." Leon cracks me up every time.

Also, Jeff has been getting lots of ass lately. Not sure I want to see any more skin from him.
Yeah, THe Lego bit was amazing. Leon just kills man.

That bit killed me, in a show filled with good bits. The Blacks have been great this season and last, Leon being the tops.
The final "F U Larry David" from Lorretta's mom cracked me up for some reason.
That's the best one I've seen in years. Pushing me over the edge was Larry's casual "Ehh... I think you were blowin' him" line to the therapist.
That was an instant classic episode, so tight and well plotted and laugh out loud funny all the way through. Larry trying to be annoying is just gold.

I don't know what it is about Leon, but everything he says just cracks me up, especially, "eating this fuckin Chinese food..."
It's weird to think that some of us ever thought that Leon would depart with the family. Of course he'd stay. Makes perfect sense.
I knew he'd stay on the show somehow, but I'm happy he's just refusing to leave the house.

I couldn't get the last two seasons so consider me impressed by Leon.
LD was brilliant. The bite when he discuss with the therapist is memorable.
