Troubleshooting VLC Player

Strange thing: I had downloaded VLC a couple of years ago and it played my Region 2 DVDs just fine. But I recently had to re-download it and now the video and audio are all choppy. I know it's not my system because I had downloaded trial version of DVD X player and it played them just fine. So what the fruit is up w/ VLC? Any suggestions?

What version do you have? On the latest, under Preferences, there is a check box for "Skip Frames". This has caused me problems in the past, but when unchecked, I have no choppiness. I am using 1.0.0 Goldeneye now.

You should also look at DMA on your DVD / CD drive to see if it is enabled.

Try this link for instructions

Hope this helps a little bit.
