Glenn Beck has lost his mind. For real this time.

I know crazy, crazy was a friend of mine. You sir, are definitely fucking insane.

Glenn Beck Madness - via Huffington Post

Glenn Beck, who may or may not be on the verge of being canned, is really reaching for the goal this week. He's rambling about some secret army that Obama is creating (through the Americorps!). He also dons his Nic Cage hat and tries to find a connection through a bunch of letters that spell out some word. Or something. The entire time, he keeps reminding us that he warned us about this months ago.

He honestly sounds like a crazy man.
He was on The O'Reilly Factor claiming that companies pulling their ads from his show were attacking his right to freedom of speech. Didn't realize everyone has the right to a cable television show.
I truely think people like him are trying to inspire political violence in this country, and that deeply deeply scares me. What an evil, fat little fuck.
I know a guy who keeps posting up the Van Jones stuff like people are supposed to be absolutely scared shitless about everything that this guy stands for and basically said that he's worse than Bill Ayers times ten.

Beck isn't going anywhere. His ratings are through the roof.

Well balls. But still, the loss of advertisers can't help the network. I thought they were going to tell him to reel it in but I guess not. In my opinion, he is getting dangerous with his level of paranoid hysteria.
To Dranbon: Obama said in his 2008 campaign "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." You can find this on youtube and many other sites if you weren't paying attention during the election campaign. What is this civilian force? What did he mean by this statement?

I've never watched Beck's show. He's a too out there for my tastes. I mean he seems to amuse O'Reilly but I dont think he really takes him seriously.

Hey, idiot:

Quote:
Obama, July 2, Colorado Springs, CO: [As] president I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots [from 75,000] and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their effort connected to a common purpose.

People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer. So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We'll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.

We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we're going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set.

We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We'll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You'll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You'll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.

This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.
Read the rest and weep for America's renewed commitment to public service...

Oh shit, Obama must have announced his secret plot accidently in the middle of a televised speech to the nation! We're lucky he slipped up

Idiot.

Why does national security only mean fighting other countries? Why can't it be about restoring our country's standing worldwide? When Obama reaches out to Arab countries, that is a national security issue.

I also get a sneaking suspicion that if liberal talk show hosts accused G.W. Bush of creating a civilian army, the right would be up-in-arms (or, worse yet, defend the actual idea)

The clip I saw he was dressed in a swedish outfit. That clip alone was enough for me not to watch his show. O'Reilly asked him how do you expect people to take you seriously.

Is this show going to make me laugh or annoy me? Has anyone watched more than one episode?
I've never watched more than five minutes, because the guy's a complete tool, but I've run into some hardcore conservatives who really take what he says to heart. Anecdotal, I know, but scary nonetheless.

Something You Should Know About FactCheck.org…
by Bill Simon

Here’s a funny fact about FactCheck.org: Barack Obama was Chairman of The Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995 until 2000. The Challenge had to do with reforming Chicago public schools.

But, it was funded by the same source that funds FactCheck.org: The Annenberg Foundation. If you go to FactCheck.org and look at the logo, you will see “ANNENBERG POLITICAL FACTCHECK.”

You can read all of the documentation about this connection between Obama and the Annenberg organizations on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago...berg_Challenge

So…knowing this now…can you REALLY rely on FactCheck.org to tell you the “true” and “accurate” facts about anything regarding Obama and Joe Biden?

If you still do…I have a Chicago baseball team I’d like to sell you…just send me your credit card information and I’ll give you a certificate of ownership. I’ll also throw-in the Brooklyn Bridge in for free.

Those video clips scared me, but the fact that he has so many followers scares me a lot more. Seriously, OLIGARH? And then the Y makes OLIGARHY?

He can just say anything and people nod and agree with him it seems, even when it makes no sense and he's out of breath from ranting like a crazy person.

The thing is, Glenn Beck has never been more successful. He can whine and complain about how horrible America is becoming and how his personal freedoms and welfare are at stake, but they're not. He's rolling the dough.

However, somewhere out in America, there are probably several viewers who have lost their jobs, who are losing their houses and are lapping up everything Beck says. They're being told it's time to DEFEND their country and FIGHT to take it back. It's THOSE people I'm afraid of. Obama may have gotten flak for saying it, but some folks truly do cling to guns and religion in times of personal strife.

I'm referring to the ratings. The peaking viewership is unsustainable. And meaningless when you can't sell anything but Cash4Gold to them, anyway.

Is sideway Cosmoline's son? Offspring? Genetic clone? I can only hope.

What scares me is that not only could he not find a word that starts with C for Oligarchy but also that he told his followers to tune in tomorrow when "the gloves are going to come off". What does he mean by that exactly?
HAHAHAHA!

So he picks some letters from some random stuff he has, and says, it spells:

OLIGARH

But it's missing one letter, which in the real world would be "C" (oligarch)? He then corrects it ...

OLIGARHY

Huh?

Beck literally speaks gibberish. I'm not exaggerating here. Try to follow his line of reasoning and dialogue for 5 minutes, just try, it's like watching Tom Cruise in that Scientology video.

In fact, now that I think of it it's a great parallel.

Wow, FactCheck really is a bastion of liberalism! It won't be long now til Obama's National Security Forces come marching down your street with little patches on their arm denoting their subservience to the Annenberg Public Policy Center! We're all doomed!

This one's a keeper, don't scare it off.

Just to be clear, what is your opinion on this particular matter? And on what in particular are you basing these opinions? Further rhetorical questions don't count; state your case. Thanks!

"O-L-I-G-A-R-H-Y. One letter is missing. The one that's missing is 'Y'"

Just take a look at the expression on his face. He must have been thinking "I just pwned Edward R Murrow". Dan Quayle, send Glen Beck some chocolates. You're off the hook.

I don't have an answer. All I have is a question about what Obama said: "We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

What does Americorps have to do with national security? If it is not militaristic in nature, then why does he compare it to a military force? What are the national security objectives? Who are they securing the country from? These are things that he does not make clear. Coming from someone who disagrees with many of Obama's political and moral beliefs, that makes me uncomfortable.

Is anyone else going to watch Glenn Beck this afternoon? I sure as hell am. If we're lucky, his head will explode on live television. Or he'll throw a noose over a tree branch and suggest a lynching of the President.

And the more I think of it, the more I don't think that this is an exaggeration at all. The guy is about one step from self-destruction.

What moral beliefs do you disagree with him?

You understand that there is more to national security than just military force right? You don't agree that increasing the number of Foreign Service officers in our embassies helps in that regard? Or initiatives like the ones the Peace Corps engages in?

I'm really hoping he says something indefensibly treasonous. Maybe he'll stop being "that wacky crazy guy on TV" and be recognized as the dangerous fear monger he is.

Yes, I read the full quote, and "national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world" sounds pretty vague to me and shouldn't need the funding equal to our military to exist. Seems more like an excuse to expand the goverment's power and influence and allow more opportunity to skim money from higher tax revenue.

As far as moral beliefs. We can start with his 20 year attendance at Rev. Wright's church. How can anyone who calls themself a Christian listen to Wright's racist and extreme diatribes for that many years and then claim to have never heard those extreme sermon's.
I belive abortion is murder. Obama supports abortion, late term abortion, and legislation that prevents doctors from giving care to babies who survive abortions.
I also don't believe in man-made global warming, or cooling for that matter.
I don't have radical friends who are terrorists like Bill Ayers, or self avowed Communists like Van Jones. Obama does.
